Slow-cooked just for Hail Mary & Sunday Blitz Double-Up lineups and Head-to-head showdowns, Week 15’s double scoop is here to slice away the fat and leave just the fine, prime beef behind.
On the menu this week, seasonal feasts from the Northern divisions and secondaries primed for a roasting.
Chalk it Up: Russell Wilson ($9300) – I’m not sure what will be more savage:
A) What the Wolf-turned-Badger-turned-Seahawk does to the Browns
B) The comments section of Wilson’s painful instagram featuring Ciara following the demolition of Cleveland. Either way, we want a piece of the action.
Chalk it Up: Adrian Peterson ($9000) – The last time Adrian Peterson didn’t take a 100 burger home against Chicago, Todd Gurley was playing football in Georgia. High school football. Do you really want to bet against history, a Canton-bound rusher, or 100 burgers?
Cheap Eat: Eddie Lacy ($6600) – Winter is coming, which means so is the Fat Eddie comeback. Built to handle the stinging collisions of the colder months, Lacy will continue riding coach McCarthy’s return to play-calling duties to a feast of points in Oakland, who’ve given up an average of 135 yards and a score on the ground in their last two home games.
Chalk it Up: Allen Robinson ($8900) – Think of the Falcons pass defence like this: When the delivery man drops off Chinese food, it’s steaming hot & everyone’s excited, but that Mongolian lamb is a little too sizzling to dive in. The next morning however, those leftovers are there to be had. In week 15, that’s your Falcons pass D, and the top cat in this young pack of Jags is starving.
Cheap Eat: Golden Tate ($6800) – Purpose-built for half-point PPR scoring, Tate has pulled level with Calvin Johnson for targets in recent weeks, earning more red zone looks as the Detroit offense ripens under J.B. Cooter. This shootout-in-waiting with the Saints shines bright on the Week 15 slate, and what did Smashmouth say? All that glitters is…
Cheap Eat: Antonio Gates ($5600) – In a week stacked with tough match-ups for our familiar friends at the tight end slot, Gates (did you know he’s a former college basketballer?) draws a meeting with the Dolphins, who couldn’t keep Will Tye out of the red zone on Tuesday. Enjoy the pre-Christmas discount and spread the savings at other spots.
The Play: New York Jets ($4500) – Matt Cassel. Need I say more? I do? Alright then.
Some of the throws hurled by the Cowboys double-back-up last week were an insult to the endangered wounded duck. If the most dangerous threat to a fantasy defence is the potential of a Kellen Moore appearance, then they belong in your Moneyball lineup.
