A crucial part of setting your Moneyball line-up is finding the cheaper players who can provide excellent value for money. Here are some of my best selections for Saturday 12th December.

Moneyball Saturday Value Picks

Point Guard

Goran Dragic – Miami Heat ($5,700)

It has been a very slow start to the season for Dragic, but a positive to come out of it is he is valued at more than a reasonable price. More importantly, Dragic is finding his form averaging 31.2 points over his past three games including a season high against the Wizards earlier this week. The Heat take on the Pacers who have conceded over 120 points in each of their last three games.

Jrue Holiday – New Orleans Pelican ($4,900)

Holiday has averaged 26.2 fantasy points per game over his last three outings. The Pelicans take on the Wizards who play at the fourth fastest pace in the league meaning there will be plenty of stats and therefore fantasy points to go around.

Shooting Guard

OJ Mayo – Milwaukee Bucks ($4,300)

Mayo has been a consistent performer over the past week. He is averaging 26.1 fantasy points over his past three games and it looks like the Bucks will be without both Greivis Vasquez and Jerryd Bayless again for this game. Expect big back court minutes yet again for Mayo.

Will Barton – Denver Nuggets ($6,100)

Barton has been one of the fantasy revelations this season with his consistent performances off the bench for the Nuggets. He has a very juicy matchup against the Timberwolves and should be a very popular choice.

Small Forward

Otto Porter – Washington Wizards ($5,600)

Porter has picked up some offensive responsibility with Marcin Gortat missing a couple of games this week. Although Gortat is back in the Wizards line-up, expect Porter’s form to continue against the Pelicans who lack a recognised wing player that can match up against him.

Al-Farouq Aminu – Portland Trailblazers ($5,000)

On the surface, Aminu’s previous couple of games have been pretty poor. In both games though, Aminu has been in foul trouble committing nine fouls in 61 minutes of game time. He has a solid matchup against the Suns and if he can stay on the floor then he should be able to give you a nice return on your investment.

Power Forward

Cody Zeller – Charlotte Hornets ($3,900)

Zeller has been performing well as the starting centre with Al Jefferson out injured. Zeller is averaging 31.6 fantasy points in his last two outings and although he comes up against a defensively minded Grizzlies team he should still provide value for money.

John Leuer – Phoenix Suns ($3,900)

Leuer has stolen the starting power forward role from Markieff Morris and has made it his own. Leuer is averaging 28.6 points over his past four games and has a fantasy friendly matchup against the Portland Trailblazers.

Centre

Kelly Olynyk – Boston Celtics ($4,100)

Olynyk is a total boom or bust prospect. Over his past three games he has scored 30.8, 10.9 and 35.1 points. The Celtics take on the Warriors who are looking for win number 24 in a row. Olynyk could either see minutes as the Celtics look to stretch the floor on offence against Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli, or if the Warriors blow out the game early then Olynyk could see extended minutes in garbage time.

Alex Len – Phoenix Suns ($4,100)

Tyson Chandler is expected to return from injury for this game, but if he doesn’t, look for Alex Len to step up again for the Suns. In his last game against the Magic he scored a career high 20 points. BET NOW
