Crucial games for all teams on Sunday afternoon when the four points don’t come as easy as they may have use to. Some of the hard-hitting teams in the AFL right now will brave it out to cement their authority early in the 2016 season. The AFL ladder could take an interesting shape after these two games are completed so hang on tight for results to come.
Max Gawn $9,100
Gawn has been great in the 2016 season thus far and hasn’t shown he is ready to slow down anytime soon. He is arguably the best ruck man in the AFL at the moment and wants to cement himself into that position as much as he can. He will want to run up the ground and make the most of his dominance.
Caleb Daniel $6,100
Daniel has fought hard for his possessions this season showing that you don’t need size to dominate the football. He is a handy selection playing for the Doggies as he will always be helped by his surrounding midfield to find the ball and is always ready to jump in for a hard-fought tackle.
Josh Kennedy $8,500
Kennedy up against the Saints defence in Perth on Sunday Afternoon could prove to be a big game. If he can work up the ground to find the ball and push back hard to hit the scoreboard he could kick an absolute bag. Fingers crossed the weather will hold off and be relatively dry but Kennedy has shown before it doesn’t phase him.
Lachie Hunter $8,600
Hunter has been an absolute stand out in the 2016 season for the Dogs, doing what he does best. He may be used slightly off the half back at times, and rolling through the midfield when required as well. Where ever he finds him self on the ground, the ball wouldn’t be too far behind. This weekend Hunter could almost be a handy lock to get a decent score.
Jack Viney $7,800
Viney has sparked Brownlow whispers after his strong start for the Demons in the early part of the season. The big body of Jack has been massive running through the midfield and has made it hard for opposition teams to math up on. Tackling is a big part of the game and he will be licking his lips as the Dogs run, crashing into him all day long.
Brad Sheppard $6,400
Sheppard was last week a shining light in a lost to the Cats, but he has shown enough that he can find the football and use it well. The Saints won’t shy away from the contest and will hit the Eagles defence hard which will give plenty of opportunity for Brad to tackle or run off half back and find plenty of the footy.
Matthew Boyd $9,300
After the plenty of injuries the Dogs have been handed so far in 2016, Boyd has taken like a duck to water heading into defence for his side. Not only does he find plenty of the ball but his running ability and kicking efficiency out of the back line has been prominent. The ex-captain won’t stop wearing his heart on his sleeve for his club, and this is a must win for their tilt towards finals football.
