Last day of the bye rounds and as AFL fans we are absolutely stoked. Sunday brings a tough match up for both teams. The Crows look to push for top 4 supremacy and the Demons still want that glimmer of hope to play in September. This day also marks the 1 Year anniversary of the tragic passing of former Adelaide coach Phil Walsh. This game will be full of emotion and cracker too watch.
ATM – Put your money on him
Hammer – Good tool to have, always handy
Biscuit – Risk it to win it
Hammer – Tex Walker (Adel) $7,300
The skipper, the big forward, the leader in the crows nest. What game for him to stand up big with all to play for, Averaging 80fp, 14 disposals and 7 marks. Walker has kicked 17 goals in 5 games which takes his total to 31 for the season. Walker will lead by example to get the victory today.
Biscuit – Charlie Cameron (Adel) $5,300
With all the focus on Eddie Betts, Cameron has been able to slip under the radar. Pushing up the wing and then turning around with speed to push forward, Cameron has the X-factor to break the game open. Averaging 68fp, 13 touches, 5 tackles and goal a game. One to watch and very cheap.
ATM – Max Gawn (Melb) $9,100
Gawn has been the best ruckman by far this season, averaging 108fp but his form has excelled to 126fp. he’s been the dominate ruckman in almost every contest, averaging 42 H/O, 14 touches, 4 marks and a goal. His last two matches speak for themselves, 134fp and 154fp. I expect no different in todays game.
ATM – Bernie Vince (Melb) $8,400
Against his old team, Vince will be looking to have a field day. Generally been a run with player this year but has worked to perfection. Averaging 102fp and form of 118fp, 28 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles. His last 3 matches have been exceptional scoring scores of 106, 136, 114. My premier midfielder today.
Hammer – Matt Crouch (Adel) $6,700
Under the radar player in the crows team, his form says otherwise scoring 118fp of late and average of 88fp. Crouch has been able to find the ball throw the middle with an average of 25 touches and 4 tackles. Coming off a great game last week against the Roos with 32 touches, 7 tackles and 2 goals with a fantasy score of 130.
Biscuit – Jarryd Lyons (Adel) $5,800
Lyons has been a great contributor this season, in good form averaging a handy 85fp, 20 disposals and 4 tackles, surprising he’s my biscuit but he is still a young and up and coming midfielder. His last 3 matches have been just that with 81, 93, and 102 respectably. Good cheap option in this expensive list of mids.
ATM – Rory Laird (Adel) $8,200
Mr reliable in the Crows backline, laird seems to turn everything he touches in to gold. averaging 98fp just shy of a 100fp, 25 touches and 7 marks. Laird is pivotable in the last line of defence with his intercepting marks. Not much more you can say about this guy he’s just so consistent and will give out all he’s got.
Biscuit – Jake Lever (Adel) $5,900
Another young defender in this Adelaide line up. In some amazing form for the amount of games he’s played, averaging only 67fp but his form shows 90fp. Lever has been able to find a bit of the ball too, averaging 16 touches and 6 marks. Lever has had 27 marks in the last 3 games in helping the Crows move the ball out of the backline.
DK’s Final Say:
A game that will be intense and full of emotion, we expect the Crows to come out firing as respect to there late coach. The Dees also have something to prove and build on for the rest of the year. No one will take a backward step and i think the leaders of both sides will have a fair say on who wins this game. But! like i always finish with, you gotta risk it to get the biscuit! look for the cheapie to save money to pick your stars.
