The top 8 is still continuing to shape with the final round set to blow the lid off. With some pivotal contests to come Saturday, all eyes will be on the players and results. Expect there to be plenty of big scores throughout the $6,000 Saturday Slam today. Sit back, relax and enjoy every minute of the action.
Max Gawn $10,100
Potentially the All Australian ruck option of 2016. Gawn has been in great form this season and has taken his game to a whole new level. Averaging 42.2 hit outs, 14.5 disposals, and 3.7 tackles. The big fella will be looking to continue his dominance against the Cats ruck stocks. His form is a massive 130.3Fp currently and if he get’s anywhere near close to that then we will reap the rewards.
Brent Harvey $7,700
The wiley veteran has been one of the Kangaroos best in 2016. Averaging 21.2 disposals, 4.1 marks and 34 goals to his name this season. If he is honoured any space against the Giants he will look to attack them head on. With all the turmoil going on mid-week, expect Harvey to want to go out on the field and prove himself. He knows how to find plenty of the ball and at a cheaper option for a forward he can be a handy acquisition.
Sam Gray $7,500
The Port Adelaide forward has been having a nice season in 2016. Averaging 20.7 disposals, 6.3 tackles and 3.1 marks for the club. If the Power want to continue their form from the showdown last week then the Suns will be the perfect game. Gray needs a 85Fp game to be worth the selection. In the final round expect the Power to go out on top and ‘Never be torn apart’.
Zach Merrett $10,100
One of the best players in the competition in 2016. The young midfielder has found some career best form and shown the competition what he’s got. He has been averaging 29.7 disposals, 5 marks, 6.3 tackles and 28 free kicks to him this season. He knows how to find the ball, win the ball and dispose the ball efficiently. With a big price tag use Merrett sparingly, but expect big things.
Robbie Gray $7,900
Not playing his best form in recent works has Gray. Against the Suns this week expect him to bounce back after the showdown loss and finish the season strong. Averaging 25.9 disposals and 4.9 tackles this season, he can find the ball, tackles strong and impact the scoreboard. With the absence of Wingard, expect Gray to be close to home of the goals more regularly for junk time goals.
Sam Menegola $5,100
The mature age recruit for the Cats has been unstoppable since his debut. He has certainly taken his opportunity with both hands and isn’t looking back. Averaging 25 disposals, 4.4 marks, and 3.8 tackles. His lowest fantasy score since his debut has been 81Fp coming against the Lions last week. Against the Demons today with plenty on the line, he should erupt in the contest and hit home strong.
Corey Enright $8,700
The veteran defender is making the most of his season in 2016. He truly looks as though he is enjoying his football. He has averaged 24.4 disposals, 6.1 marks and 2.7 tackles this year. The Demons will have no shortage off opportunities thrust into the Cats defence. It will be up to the likes of Enright’s intercept marking and disposal efficiency by foot to regain another solid score.
Oscar McDonald $5,500
As a cheap $5,500 defender option this week. Oscar McDonald has been finding his true form in the AFL and it’s portraying in his overall game play. With an average of 16.9 disposals, 4.1 marks and 1.9 tackles. A serviceable score would be 70+Fp for McDonald to be repaying his coach this week. With his run out of defence for the Demons there is every opportunity for him to score and score well.
