Hookers:

Winding into the back end of the season now and it is pretty clear who the obvious choices are so while I will give them a brief mention, I will try focus on PODS a little more. For the hooker role this week you can’t go past Josh Hodgson ($8,900), he is playing far beyond his price and with Austin being out will become all the more crucial for the Raiders attack.

Forwards:

So much damn quality in the forwards but so difficult to pick. Anyone of Fifita, James, Carty and Merrin should serve you well. Jamie Buhrer ($8,700) gets a return game in my side, just edging out Cordner given he is up against the Sharks, I’m expecting the Sharks to aim up in defence and force a low scoring game. Sio Siua Taukeiaho ($7,200) has been killing it in the pack and offers a bit of extra value at the current price. James Fisher Harris ($5,800) and Matt Prior ($4,900) are my two value selections for the low end of the spectrum. JFH has those attacking stats in him and Prior has been taking on increased responsibility of late while Gallen’s been out or his minutes are getting managed even when he does play.

Halves:

Nathan Cleary ($6,900) has been an out and out gun and given he is scoring 40s is the obvious selection. Connor Watson ($6,000) has also been stepping up but I don’t have as much faith in him against the Sharks. For the real punters out there it is quite likely that either Sam Williams or Aiden Sezer will need to have a big game for the Raiders in Austin’s absence. I’m really expecting there to be points on offer up against Manly.

Outside Backs:

Despite a quiet week my first picked in the backs is still Konrad Hurrell ($6,300), watch him get tackle busts with ease against a Penrith line that still let in some soft tries to the Tigers despite their overall dominance. If you can somehow afford Jarrod Croker ($10,700) or Joseph Leilua ($9,200) then you know what you will get. Matt Moylan ($7,700) has also popped up as a great POD as we creep closer to finals, getting his hands on the footy a lot more. Dallin Watene Zelezniak ($5,700) is the closest we are likely getting to a viable cheapie this week with most sides pretty well set with established players. Now he is back to FB, will this be the week that the second coming of Jesus decides to score some points?? Still not touching Hayne personally.
