NBA Daily Fantasy doesn’t slow down as we approach the weekend – look out for the big $10,000 Friday Swish Special today on Moneyball! It’s $15 to enter and first place takes home $1,200 today!
Rajon Rondo – $4,800
Fred Hoiberg wants Rajon Rondo to lead the Bulls team off the bench as the sixth man. Jimmy Butler missing games is helping Rajon Rondo’s usage rate and therefore boosting his fantasy production as well. Rondo scored 29.8 last game, hitting 6x value. If Rondo wants to keep playing basketball for the Bulls, he’s going to need to produce quality basketball, and it all begins today when the Bulls take on a hungry Knicks, a team that just lost to the 76ers.
Tyreke Evans – $3,500
Tyreke Evans is enjoying a slow increase in minutes and has now played two games in a row with 20 minutes or more. He is slowly overcoming his back injury and has had a couple of days of rest before taking on the Nets today. The Brooklyn team allow plenty of fantasy points to opposing guards, and you can either take a shot with Jrue Holiday or Tyreke Evans today. I’m recommending Evans here because he’s the bargain option has the potential to return 25+ points from just $3,500 salary.
Dwyane Wade – $6,400
Dwyane Wade is one of the better plays of the day in Moneyball’s Friday Swish. He sat out the game against the Wizards and has now had four days rest before heading to New York to take on the Knicks. Jimmy Butler is out of the lineup due to an illness, which means that Wade will see a nice bump in production. Even before the boost to his fantasy output, Wade has averaged 31.3 fantasy points over his last thirty games and should return 5x value or more today against the Knicks.
Buddy Hield – $4,100
Buddy Hield is suddenly finding his rhythm in the NBA, and it’s all begun by knocking down three-pointers. Hield has managed 26 points or more in four of his last six games and plays against the Brooklyn Nets tonight in a highly favourable matchup. If you’ve never played Hield before in your Moneyball lineup, I think there’s no better debut for the 23-year-old Pelicans guard.
Carmelo Anthony – $7,900
Carmelo Anthony is always up there in my selections for tournament plays. He’s a good play mainly because of how shallow the pool of small forward’s can be at times, and Melo is one of the few forwards with big upside. The Knicks invite the Chicago Bulls to New York today and if the Knicks are to stay in front of the Bulls today, Melo is a main reason why.
TJ Warren – $3,500
Just like Carmelo Anthony, TJ Warren always finds his way into my recommendations when I’m looking at the small forward position. Warren is a talented young forward who is struggling to get consistent minutes on the court lately after returning from a head injury in mid-December. When he does get minutes, he performs extremely well and you don’t want to miss out on his performance, especially when he is just $3,500 right now.
Pelicans Power Forward’s
If Anthony Davis were playing today, he’d have immediately been my best play of the day. Sadly, he is listed as questionable due to nursing a hip injury. This opens the door for two ex-Rockets players who are now at the Pelicans, Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas. The Brooklyn Nets are a formidable matchup for any power forward, and both of these guys will be producing fantasy points today. Terrence Jones knows the system and has played some impressive basketball at times this season, with high scores of 45 and 40. I’d be leaning more towards Jones and hoping he can pull out a 30+ fantasy point performance today with Davis missing.
Dirk Nowitzki – $3,800
Something just doesn’t feel right seeing veteran Dirk Nowitzki priced at just $3,800. I’ve always been used to seeing Dirk around the $7,000 area but this season has been one of inconsistency, in both game-time and performance. He’s started to pick up his game again lately and is now averaging 24.9 through his last five games, including a score of 38 in his most recent outing. He’s one of the safer $3,800 plays out there.
Andre Drummond – $8,000
This one is definitely for those looking for a bold selection to help them take home some cash in the Friday Swish. Drummond has been playing excellent basketball lately, averaging 45 fantasy points over his last five games. The problem with selecting Drummond today, however, is that he’s up against the Golden State Warriors – a team I rarely bet against. The line for this one is set at +13 and Drummond will have to play excellent basketball to keep the Pistons from being blown out.
Tyson Chandler – $6,300
Center is quite thin today, especially noticeable when Tyson Chandler makes the cut in a recommendation article. He’s one of the more consistent and safer plays recommended this piece today though and is almost always a certainty to get his 25+ fantasy points. He has returned 29 or more fantasy points in all of his last three games and deserves consideration if you don’t want to take the chance on Andre Drummond today.
