Another massive day of football to come for footy fans everywhere as we start to finish up the Easter long weekend. No doubt that the games to come could prove pivotal in the overall scheme of things. Magpies and Saints both wanting to continue the winning form and rise up the ladder. Tigers needing to hammer home an advantage, while the Lions looking to pick up another win. Anything can happen, as the season has shown us already. AFL fantasy tips
Stefan Martin $8,500
The big man has shown some great form at the beginning of the season so far. He has been highlighted as one of the top two ruckman in the whole competition in 2017. Martin plays better football as a sole ruck option for the Lions, and is showing he can score well win he is given the opportunity. He hasn’t scored below 100Fp in 2017 as yet and should continue the scoring this week.
Jack Riewoldt $7,100
Scoring hasn’t been a massive problem for Riewoldt this season so far. Against the Lions i give him every opportunity to finish the game with a 100+ if he gets up the ground and links with the midfield players for the Tigers. When Riewoldt becomes a confident player for Richmond, the rest of the team feeds off that energy and they will look to run over teams in the competition.
Jamie Elliott $5,100
First game for the year coming back from injuries. Elliott is a quality forward with the potential to run riot if given a fit run at it. He is short priced at $5,100 and against the Saints Fasolo and Elliott could become quality link up players for the Pies. He is coming off five goals in the VFL last week and will look to bring the confidence into his first hit out for the year in the AFL.
Dustin Martin $10,200
One of the brownlow medal favourites for the season. Martin has been prolific early in the season and there is not much he can’t do. He is not only finding plenty of the ball, he is kicking goals, racking up disposals and manage to chip in with tackles as well. He is playing an all round game for his team this season and isn’t taking a backwards step. One to watch will be the players set the task to slow Martin down for the Lions, so keep an eye out on that impact.
Dayne Beams $9,000
Since coming back from injury and been handed the captaincy for the Lions he has shown plenty. Averaging 5.3 tackles and over 30 disposals in the opening three rounds has been important in the progress of Brisbane. The team is showing a lot more than they had in the 2016 season. Plenty of ball to be won in the middle for both teams and whoever takes the advantage will be well repaid.
Reece Conca $6,500
Conca has had an injury free run at the competition early in the year. Showing exactly what he can do he is averaging 20 disposals and four tackles at the start of the season. He is scoring well early and has the potential to break a game wide open. Slight risk at the $6,500 price range but if Richmond get ahold of the Lions then the game could explode in massive scoring.
Tom Cutler $6,600
With the Lions potentially seeing plenty of the ball in defence against Richmond today. It leaves the door wide open for the likes of Cutler to show the potential he has to offer the competition as he grows into a quality player. He finds plenty of the ball in defence and this game will be no different. Not a high-priced defensive option so definitely a great option to take a punt on.
Jeremy Howe $7,500
High flying defender for the Pies has been good early. Against the Saints with their quick ball movement Howe will be important with his intercept marking and ball movement by foot. Big potential for Howe to score well in this game and if he can take the opportunity then his point scoring will be worth the risk.
