A massive Saturday of football this weekend, 5 back to back games including an intriguing Derby. With so many games available picking your teaming todays 5k contest makes it much more difficult. Here are my AFL fantasy tips for today’s contest.

ATM – Expensive but Reliable

Hammer – Mid range player that can score

Biscuit  – Cheap pick up

Hammer – Jack Martin (GC) $7400

Averaging 87 but form of 100 coming off 18 touches, 7 marks and 3 tackles scoring 83 fp last week, Martin has taken his game to another level. Starts at half back but has been known to push forward with two games scoring 3 goals this year. Could create problems for the Roos.

Biscuit – Dan Houston (PA) $6100

Houston a young rookie from the Power has averaged 78 this year and has been very consistent, also averaging 16 touches and 7 marks playing primarily half back but listed as forward, a great Biscuit option for me.

Hammer – Ben McEvoy (HAW) $6400

McEvoy has been in great form of late (100 fp) and coming off his best performance of the year last week. 17 touches, 7 marks, 5 tackles, 1 goal an 43 hitouts scoring 129 vs the Eagles. 101 fp the week before as well, i think he gets on top on the inexperienced Longer from St Kilda.

ATM – Tom Rockliff (BRIS) $10800

Rockliff a fantasy pig and has not disappointed this year, averaging 127 fp and has not scored under 100. 30 touches, 10 marks, 4 tackles and a goal scoring 124 fp vs the Dogs. Against the Power this week could be a decent match up for him with Boak out with injury. Until he gets injured or scores less than 80 no reason to not pick him.

Hamme – Brad Hill (FREO) $7400

Hill has fitted in nicely down at the Dockers, Averaging 88 fp and has scored 98, 83 and 109 in last 3 weeks. Coming off 23 touches, 8 marks and a goal scoring 98. His first Derby in freo colours and with his brother out could be the spark they need in the midfield and up forward.

Hammer – Jack Steele (STK) $7200

Steele is starting to show why the Saints traded for him, averaging 87 but form of 96, coming off 21 disposals, 4 marks and 10 tackles scoring 101. his intensity around the contest has been outstanding, averaging 7 tackles a game. Hard match upon him against the Suns could be handy for him this afternoon.

Hammer – Jasper Pittard (PA) $7200

2 games back from injury and Pittard has started very well, averaging 93 fp and putting up 28 touches and 6 marks scoring 98 fp. I picture a huge fantasy day and this bloke will get plenty of it running off the half back line. Pittard will only get better as he increases his fitness and touch.

Biscuit – Luke McDonald (NTH) $6000

Mcdonald is averaging 80 fp this season in a disappointing start to their season. McDonald is coming off 19 touches, 4 marks and 8 tackles scoring 96 last week. Against the Suns could be a chance for him to push forward with a few injuries and omissions.
