Seriously how good in NRL Super Saturday?! Three great match-up’s today and $8,000+ in guaranteed prizes for the taking as the Sea Eagles face the Dragons, the Titans go head to head vs the Raiders and the Cowboys get ready for battle versus the Tigers. Need help finalising your line-ups? Here are my NRL fantasy tips to get you going!
Sea Eagles v Dragons
This should be another exciting match-up. Both teams are in really good form which sets the stage for a thrilling encounter.
Both Api Koroisau ($7,300) and Cameron McInnes ($8,200) have been performing well this season. Koroisau produced the better score last week although McInnes has the better season average. I’ll be saving some of my cap and going with the cheaper option.
Paul Vaughan ($8,500) showed us last week he can still produce a great score without the attacking stats. He should be considered highly each week. Jack De Belin ($9,200) and Jake Trbojevic ($8,500) are the other two expensive options but they certainly justify their price with their impressive base output. I won’t mind forking out the big bucks on forwards in this game.
Gareth Widdop ($7,100) will be my starter in the halves this week. I think both teams should score a few tries which makes Widdop more attractive with his goal kicking duties.
Brian Kelly ($4,800) has been a great value pick in the outside backs each week and will once again feature in my side. In fact, I’ll be fielding at least three of the Manly outside backs because Tom Trbojevic ($9,600) and Dylan Walker ($6,900) are too good to pass up. Frank Winterstein ($5,000) will be the safety choice as he plays in the second row and will score consistent base points.
Titans v Raiders
The Raiders should dominate this contest at Cbus stadium. They are easily the team in better form and it won’t surprise me if they score 40 points on the underwhelming Titans.
I think the hooker decision is fairly simple here. Hodgson has been carrying an injury and hasn’t been able to justify his worth. It seems more beneficial to grab Ryan Simpkins ($3,700) at the cheaper price and spend big elsewhere.
Josh Papalii ($9,400) continues his epic run of form with a 41 point score last weekend. He is the most expensive option but easily the hardest worker. I liked the look of Sia Soliola ($6,700) last week so I’ll be choosing him as another of my forwards. He isn’t too expensive and he’s more than capable of scoring attacking stats against the Titans. Leivaha Pulu ($4,900) is one of the cheapest options of offer and he seems to be proving his worth quite easily.
All four of the halves choices are appealing but I think Blake Austin ($6,100) could be in for a big week. The Titans’ defence is usually weak and Austin will be trying to take advantage of that.
There are no surprises that I’ll be loading up on Raiders’ players in my outside backs. The only issue is that most are fairly expensive. Joseph Leilua ($8,400) is the cheapest of the three big names so I’ll be throwing him in. I can see Nick Cotric ($4,400) snagging another try this weekend so he’ll be a nice value pick. Jarrod Croker ($9,400) should also score big as he’s the club goal kicker.
Cowboys v Tigers
The Cowboys should easily win this match. They’re playing at home and will be up against a side that are leaking significant points each week.
Ben Hampton ($3,500) will be Granville’s replacement at hooker. He comes with a bottom dollar price tag and minimal risk so he’s an auto-pick for me.
Jason Taumalolo ($8,900) is the obvious choice here. He is easily the superior forward of those available and averages around 10 points per game more than anyone else. Luckily we have some consistent mid-range choices if we’re looking to spend big elsewhere. Ava Seumanufagai ($5,400) and Scott Bolton ($6,100) are both good choices and are very reliable. I’d prefer to choose these two over the more expensive choices.
Johnathan Thurston ($9,100) will be first selected in my team. He’s the goal kicker for the strong favourites and is usually involved in a high percentage of the Cowboys’ attacking plays.
Gideon Gala-Mosby ($3,500) is close to a must have in your Moneyball side this week. The Tigers’ right side defence is shocking so we’d have to expect Gala-Mosby to score a few attacking stats. He also craves involvement so he’s not really capable of a low score. Lachlan Coote ($5,500) isn’t 100% fit so be sure to check the final team list. If he’s a late withdrawal then Kalyn Ponga ($4,500) will also be extremely attractive. Kyle Feldt ($4,700) and Kane Linnett ($5,100) are also ones to consider against the very weak Tigers outfit.
