Two teams that are looking to keep pace with the top of the table.  Both will be out looking for blood as they clash on Friday night footy once again.  Form isn’t much to go by for these two combatants but at the new and improved home of the Cattery expect quite the spectacle.  It’s a game that can go either way for these line-ups so hopefully we are treated to a cracking game.

Tom Boyd $5,800

A very cheap option in the forward line for the game tonight.  Boyd has been moving well as practically the only ruck type option on the field.  He is capable of getting around the ground and hitting the scoreboard by burning off his opponent.  Not long a go people were questioning his commitment and tenacity to put his head over the board, so hopefully he is ready to fight for the footy and can put up a reasonable score.

Jack Redpath $5,900

Coming off his first game back from a serious injury he was in fine form for the Dogs.  They had really missed the type of player and options Redpath is able to provide.  With the addition of Cloke in the side also for tonight’s clash it will aid Redpath as he won’t be getting the number one defender from the Cats.  Many will say that he may not bounce back in week two, but he is a professional player ready to have a crack.

Caleb Daniel $7,500

Little forward/midfielder Daniel has been having another consistent season in 2017 so far.  With plenty of football to be won in the absence of certain injured players at times, he is making the most of his opportunities.  Against the Cats at home it won’t be an easy game to work straight into coming off a trip West.  He has proven he can score well and at a $7,500 price he will be a primo pick up.

Scott Selwood $6,100

First game for 2017 for Scott Selwood and he will be a must anticipated return to the Cats line-up.  He had shown something in the few games he played for Geelong last season and they will need the tackling pressure and fast hands he possesses to combat a fierce Dogs side.  After the lack of pressure and tackling last week against the Dons, Geelong will be out in vengeance to place a stamp on the competition.  Selwood is a perfect option for this role and is a very cheap midfield selection.

Sam Menegola $8,600

Another pick in the Geelong midfield I am very fond of for his all round tackling ability and pressure.  He isn’t a massively priced midfielder for tonight’s game in comparison to others and with his scoring upside he is well worth the risk.  Averaging 7.2 tackles and working his away into the plus on the free kick account he is ready for action against the Dogs.  Not many players I would pick week in week out lately, but I am sold on Menegola.

Marcus Bontempelli $10,100

Not much to say about the mercurial player Bontempelli is becoming.  He is setting the competition on fire yet again and he is doing it through the midfield and forward line.  Averaging 7 tackles and 11 goals to his name in the opening rounds already as well.  He is managing to impact the scoring around the ground really well and in a contest like this I believe no Geelong player will be able to play a run with role around the entirety of the ground.

Zach Tuohy $8,400

Since coming over from the Blues, Tuohy has been a fantastic acquisition.  Averaging a high number of efficient disposals running off the back line.  He is important to the Geelong defence and with Kolo and Henderson back in the side this week it will assist in Tuohy to get more time off the leash to impact the contest.

Andrew Mackie $7,700

One of the senior players in the Geelong team, Mackie has been prolific in his leadership and ball movement.  Rarely do you see the likes of Andrew Mackie putting a foot wrong out on the field.  Averaging over 20 disposals and over 5 marks he is showing he still has what it takes to hit the point scoring fantasy wise and repay a coach.  He would be one of my lock in players for tonight’s game.
