Another two teams fighting for spots in the top eight for the 2017 season.  As we are reaching the second half of the competition, the race for spots high up on the ladder is starting to heat up.  The crows have made Adelaide a fortress once again and the Saints will be looking to use similar tactics as other teams to try to negate the Crows and leave with all four points.  Some great contests this weekend, with some quality from both sides to be on display tonight.

Ruck

Sam Jacobs $9,500

Crows big man Jacobs has been working his way into some fine form in recent weeks.  The other alternatives in the ruck for tonight wouldn’t be worth the risk with Jacobs in contention even with his high price tag.  Averaging 41.7 hit outs and 15.3 disposals per game, he is easily the first to the ball 99% of the time in this contest.

Forwards

Tom T Lynch $8,100

Prominent tall forward Lynch is moving well in the absence of Mitch McGovern.  Averaging 19.6 disposals, 7.1 marks and 16 goals against his name up to round 11.  His score average is 88.2 at a price of $8,100  which is well worth the risk in a game like this for the Crows.  He will be fed with some silver service throughout the game so expect a quality score.

Jack Billings $8,900

Small St Kilda forward is coming off a lacklustre effort against the Western Bulldogs last week, but fully expect him not to back it up with another low score.  He is the highest priced forward from both teams for tonight, but his scores speak for themselves.  Averaging 22.1 disposals and 5.3 marks per game are what contributed to additional midfield minutes throughout 2017.

Midfield

Hugh Greenwood $4,300

Young Adelaide midfielder Greenwood has taken his opportunity to the senior side with both hands.  He hasn’t looked likely to put a foot wrong in recent weeks and will attempt to cement his spot.  Averaging a massive 8.7 tackles per game will work well in his favour against a ferocious Saints side.  Very low priced for a player with his type of capabilities, especially at their home ground.

Brad Crouch $8,100

Since returning to the senior side Crouch is yet to have his score drop below 100Fp.  He has averaged 28 disposals and 5.6 tackles for 2017 and his fantasy point form is 101 on return.  A high tackling pressure game in store for both teams will allow plenty of tackle opportunities and additional looks at first use of the footy aided by Jacobs.

Sebastian Ross $9,700

One of the higher priced midfielders for tonight’s contest is Seb Ross.  Although he is averaging 29.8 disposals, 3.8 marks and 4.5 tackles, he will also be aided by an intense high-pressure game.  If he is able to get off the leash and work into his game, then expect a big score out of Ross.  Boasting a 118.3 fantasy point scoring form is massive in a contest like tonight’s with the potential of Sloane to be closely watched for another week.

Defenders

Dylan Roberton $9,000

The Saints have been handed a spectacular start to the season by Dylan Roberton.  Although his price has lifted to $9,000, he has been generating scores that equal the reward against the risk.  Averaging 25.4 disposals and 7.5 marks in 2017 leading towards an average of 105.5Fp overall.  Expect Roberton to continue his exciting form against Adelaide tonight.

Rory Laird $9,300

With a slow performance last week in the loss against the Cats, fully expect to see Laird bounce back.  He has had a solid season for the Crows to date and will need to dig deep for some generating run out of the back line.  Averaging 31.5 disposals and 4.2 marks per game is important for a high scoring defensive option especially for the price of $9,300.
