Both teams are strongly affected by the State of Origin but I think the Storm will win this match. I’m predicting a high-scoring contest. And in the other game this evening, the Sharks may be under-strength but I think they’ll be too good for the struggling Tigers this weekend.

Melbourne Storm V North Queensland Cowboys

Hooker

Jake Granville ($6,100) and Slade Griffin ($3,700) are the two starters in this match. I think Griffin can provide better value at his price.

Forwards

Jason Taumalolo ($9,700) is the most expensive choice but I seem to be picking him up each week. He was taken off early last week but it shouldn’t happen again with the Cowboys being seriously under-strength. It’s also hard to ignore Felise Kaufusi ($7,400) who’s been finding the try line quite a bit in recent times. Nelson Asofa-Solomona ($4,900) has made his way into the starting side so he should be a nice value pick in this match.

Half

There are a couple of bottom dollar choices on offer here but I’m going to run with Ray Thompson ($4,700). He’s been looking good when he’s taken the field and I think he’ll justify his price.

Outside Backs

Curtis Scott ($3,500) made a couple of appearances last season and I think he’ll be a great value pick against the under-strength Cowboys. I think I’ll run with a couple of the cheaper options so Justin O’Neil ($4,700) and Lachlan Coote ($5,000) should also make my outside backs.

Cronulla Sharks V West Tigers

Hooker

All of the hooker choices are fairly cheap but I think Jayden Brailey ($5,400) will prove to be the better option among the available candidates.

Forwards

A few of the usual bench options will benefit from the absence of the State of Origin players. Sam Tagataese ($3,500), Kurt Capewell ($4,100) and Tim Grant ($4,800) have all made the starting sides and will allow us to spend big on the outside backs with high scoring potentials. Don’t rule out Elijah Taylor ($7,900) as an option either. He may be expensive but he could cross the line against the under-strength Sharks.

Half

Tuimoala Lolohea ($5,500) has been in good form since joining the Tigers. He’s worth a punt at his low to mid-range price.

Outside Backs

I’m going to choose Malakai Watene Zelezniak ($3,800) which will allow me to spend bigger on my other two outside backs. David Nofoaluma ($7,900) is the last of the high scorers left while Ricky Leutele ($6,900) should break the Tigers’ defence on more than one occasion.
