The weekend has been kicked off with a real pearler with the Swans meeting the Hawks, if the quality of football can continue just like that game then we will truly be treated to a fantastic weekend of football. So here are our AFL fantasy tips for this Saturday of football.
Braydon Preuss – $5,700
Preuss is back for another stint in the AFL after dominating in the VFL for so long, Goldstein is still out which leaves the rucking effort all on our cult figure Preuss, he’s coming up against quality opposition in Gawn, however Gawn has missed a fair chunk of footy this season and hasn’t quite found his way back to his best, leaving the door wide open for Preuss to have a blinder.
Shane Savage – $7,200
Savage has made his way back into the lineup after poor form at the start of the season saw him left out of the side for most of the season, however now he is back he hasn’t put a foot wrong and with Montagna going down injured last weekend, the Saints will definitely welcome the experience Savage brings to the lineup with a 3 round average of 101FP he is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Luke Ryan – $4,800
Ryan comes back into the lineup after his club imposed week suspension for his drinking incident, if i were him i’d be fired up and ready to go to show the Freo selectors theirs a reason they brought him back into the lineup, versing a struggling GWS side, i still believe the ball will end up his way quite often, will look forward to seeing what he can produce.
Connor Blakely – $9,600
Blakely has found some really great form in recent weeks with his move into the backline and coming through the middle at stages, he is picking up a ton of cheap possessions with his work rate around the ground and it has really shown upon his scoring, he has average 132.7FP over the last 3 weeks which is huge for someone at his price.
Brad Ebert – $9,300
Every time i see this guy play well it stings a little on the inside as i feel the Eagles helped him form his playing style, however not taking anything away from him he is truly taking his game to another level this season with his endurance and his great overhead mark, coming up a St Kilda lineup thats been seriously up and down this season i’d like to see Ebert score well into the 100’s.
Lachie Weller – $6,700
Word out of Fremantle is that with the injury coming to Walters, Weller will be the one to step up and be thrown on ball in place of him, this is a huge development for a player such as Weller, he has a ton of pace in him and can use the ball quite well, i will be intrigued to see what he can produce in terms of scoring, either way for 6.7k it should be a healthy return.
Christian Petracca – $6,600
Petracca in a couple years will be scary good when he is getting further time to run through the middle, he is truly a bull with the ball in hand and is incredibly difficult to tackle to the ground, add in the fact he’s smart with the ball and you have a player who can really play, he’s been playing well this season without lighting the world on fire but i believe coming up against the Roos, he will be looking to post a big score.
Taylor Garner – $5,600
Watching the way Garner played last week it was hard for me to try and leave him out this weekend, i couldn’t, he truly found some terrific form and took a tonne of great marks, this is what the Roos knew he was capable when they signed him and he is starting to produce, for 5.6k why not take the punt, he’s not the most expensive player out their.
