Two massive NRL Super Saturday match-up’s, the Penrith Panthers face-off against the Manly Sea Eagles followed by the Melbourne Storm taking on the Parramatta Eels. Here are my NRL fantasy tips to get you started!
Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles
This is a difficult match to predict but I’ll have to lean towards the in-form Sea Eagles.
Mitch Rein ($7,300) missed last week’s match so I’m going with Apisai Koroisau ($7,400) as my hooker. I’m always a little nervous selecting a player who’s coming back from injury.
The Sea Eagles are missing a couple of forwards so Frank Winterstein ($4,800) could provide some value with his increased work rate. I won’t mind forking out the big bucks for Trent Merrin ($9,200) due to his recent form while James Tamou ($6,700) will be my pick of the middies. I think I’ll add another middie to my side so I’ll also be considering Reagan Campbell-Gillard ($6,100) as my final forward.
Daly Cherry-Evans ($7,700) has been in incredible form lately so it’ll be hard to ignore his this week. The Panthers’ halves have been impressive too but I think DCE will be more involved.
I’m going to make sure I don’t spend too much on my outside backs. This game comes with uncertainty and there’s a chance that the more expensive choices will struggle to prove their worth. In saying that, Tom Trbojevic ($9,900) seems to be back to his best so I won’t be able to ignore his services. Matthew Wright ($5,300) and Waqa Blake ($5,500) will be my final two choices due to their reasonable price tags.
Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels
The Storm will be without their spine but their replacements have been filling in nicely. I’m predicting Melbourne to take the points in a high scoring match.
Slade Griffin ($3,700) and Cameron King ($3,500) are both extremely cheap and are the two starting hookers of offer. There’s not much to think about here but I’m leaning towards Griffin for his experience.
Nathan Brown ($8,300) will be my first picked forward this week. He had an incredible work rate in round 17 and is usually a very safe option for your side. There aren’t any value choices on offer but I think Nelson Asofa –Solomona ($4,700) could score above his worth while playing in the starting side. Once again, I’ll be running with Daniel Alvaro ($5,600) and Dale Finucane ($6,800) as my two consistent middies.
Brody Croft ($3,500) will be locked in as my half this week. He comes with a bottom dollar price tag and scored very well in his last appearance.
My tactic for this match is to load up of Storm outside backs. Most of them should be able to score well and a couple of them come with cheap price tags. Jahrome Hughes ($3,500) and Curtis Scott ($5,000) are the two cheaper options and I think they’re both capable of scoring well above their worth. This will allow me to afford Suliasi Vunivalu ($7,100). He’s been scoring tries at will and isn’t really that expensive.
