Queensland V New South Wales
The final clash of the three game series should be an epic low scoring contest. I’m predicting Queensland to take out the series at home. Here are my tips for tonights $10,000 State Of Origin Special.
Cameron Smith ($8,200) and Nathan Peats ($6,200) are once again the two hookers of offer. It’s hard to ignore the New South Wales candidate due to his cheaper price tag and similar output to Smith. For me it’s a no brainer; save the $2,000 and use it elsewhere.
Josh McGuire ($6,700) will be my first picked forward. He’s produced an impressive output throughout the series and comes with a very reasonable price tag. We won’t have to be too cautious with our salary cap for this match; we should be adding Andrew Fifita ($7,500) to our forwards as he generally has the better work rate of all the candidates. I’ll be sticking with consistency and reliability for my forwards. This makes David Klemmer ($5,100) and Dylan Napa ($6,300) suitable options for anyone looking to keep those points ticking over.
Call me crazy but I’m going to choose Cameron Munster ($6,100) as my Moneyball half. I like the running halves and he’ll feel right with the rest of the Storms’ spine playing around him. Lock him in.
James Tedesco ($8,100) has had a very impressive series so he’ll be my first choice outside back for game three. I’m backing a Queensland victory so I’ll have to add two Maroons as my other two choices. Despite struggling with an ankle injury in recent times, Billy Slater ($7,100) will be my second choice while Will Chambers ($6,200) will complete my outside back trio.
