Friday night NRL delivers us two epic match-ups. The Warriors take on the Panthers in what is sure to be an attacking thriller followed by the Raiders taking on the Dragons. Here are our NRL fantasy tips to get you started.
Warriors V Panthers
This is a difficult game to predict. The Panthers are in better form but I can see the Warriors taking the two points and home.
Issac Luke ($7,900) has returned from injury but I’ll be running with the cheaper alternative in Mitch Rein ($7,100). Luke’s output has been higher but I struggle picking players who are playing their first game back after an injury.
There’s plenty of quality on offer when looking at the forwards for this match. Firstly I’m going to choose the value option in Bunty Afoa ($4,300). He’s been named in the starting side and should see some high minutes. This will allow to grab Simon Mannering ($9,500) and Trent Merrin ($9,000). Both these players have been in unbelievable form and you won’t want to miss out on their services. There are a number of mid-range options to choose from but Ben Matulino ($6,800) will be my choice of the bunch.
Nathan Cleary ($8,000) has been in great form in recent times and is cheaper than the other high performers. I’m locking him in as my half for this clash.
Waqa Blake ($5,300) will be my choice of the cheaper candidates. This should allow me to grab the higher performers in Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($8,900) and Dylan Edwards ($6,300). Edwards has been producing a great output but still maintains a mid-range price tag.
Raiders V Dragons
The Raiders have been struggling to gel but I’m tipping the boys in green edging out the inconsistent Dragons.
Cameron McInnes ($7,600) may the more expensive choice but has been struggling with form in recent times. I’ll be choosing Josh Hodgson ($7,400) as my hooker as I think he’ll score the superior base output.
I don’t like the more expensive forward choices in this match. They’re either been struggling with form or carrying a niggling injury. Tariq Sims ($6,400) and Russell Packer ($6,300) will be my middle men. They’ll keep the points ticking over and don’t come with any risk. Joel Thompson ($6,900) may be a second rower but his output has been really impressive. Shannon Boyd ($4,700) will be my choice of the cheapies.
I honestly don’t like any of the candidates in the half position. I’m giving serious though to choosing the cheapest option in Josh McCrone ($4,100) and writing the position off.
Jordan Rapana ($11,100) is way too expensive considering his recent form; same can be said for Tim Lafai ($9,100). Taane Milne ($4,600) has been named as Aitken’s replacement and comes at a cheap price. He’ll be my first picked outside back. I should have a fair bit of cap remaining so I’ll be choosing Joseph Leilua ($8,100) and Jack Wighton ($7,100) as my high performers. They’re both capable of scoring well and their base output is fairly respectable.
