Three stunning Super Saturday battles, The Titans get it all started as they take on the Bulldogs, the Storm face-off against the Rabbitohs and in the evening the Sharks go head to head vs the Roosters, who will make your 9? NRL fantasy tips
Titans V Bulldogs
Both of these teams have been woeful but I’ll have to tip the Titans due to the ‘new coach’ factor. It should be a high scoring game as both teams have been leaking points in recent weeks.
I’m going to take a gamble on Tyrone Roberts ($4,000). He’s extremely cheap and is capable of scoring well against the Bulldogs. Nathan Peats ($7,100) is a more reliable choice but I think Roberts could provide better value.
Max King ($4,600) has become a regular in my side. He’ll allow you to spend big elsewhere and is a semi-reliable choice. Ryan James won’t take the field this weekend so Agnatius Paasi ($5,100) should benefit in his absence. He looks to be a good value pick at starting prop. James Graham ($7,400) will be my heavy hitter while David Klemmer ($7,600) will give me the extra boost in base stats.
Matt Frawley ($3,600) has been named as Josh Reynolds’ replacement and should be able to score will against the Titans. He’ll be my half for this match.
I have plenty of cap leftover for some quality outside backs but there simply aren’t any expensive choices. It might be worth grabbing Jarryd Hayne ($7,500) due to the ‘new coach’ factor. He didn’t take the field last week but I highly doubt it was due to injury. Marcelo Montoya ($6,300) has been finding the line recently so he’ll be my second choice. I’ll be relying on Montoya to score a try so he does come with a little risk. Dale Copley (5,100) will be my final choice. His mid-range price is appealing and he could benefit from the new Hayne Plane.
Storm V Rabbitohs
Expect nothing else but a dominating performance by the Melbourne Storm. The Bunnies may have racked up a few wins but the Storm are simply the superior side.
I’m going to save the $4,100 and choose Damien Cook ($6,500) as my hooker. Cameron Smith ($10,600) will no doubt score better but Cook has a good chance to provide the better value.
Cameron Murray ($4,600) has been on fire lately and emerges as the value pick in this match. John Sutton ($6,700) has also been performing well and his mid-range price is appealing. Dale Finucane ($7,500) seems to be the cheaper of the reliable choices while Felise Kaufusi’s ($7,600) scoring potential in this match looks to be decent.
Cooper Cronk ($6,400) is actually the cheapest half on offer but I think he’ll set up a handful of tries. He’ll be my half for this match.
Billy Slater ($9,500) had a shocker last week but he’ll be in for a monster with Cooper Cronk back. I won’t mind forking out the big bucks for his services. Curtis Scott ($6,500) has a huge potential this match and his mid-range price tag is very appealing. Will Chambers ($8,100) will be my final outside back due to his respectable base output and likelihood of attacking stats.
Sharks V Roosters
This will be the game of the round and I’m predicting a low scoring contest. It will be won in the forwards and it could be worth spending less on your outside backs.
Jake Friend ($7,900) is a tackling machine and should easily out-perform the Sharks alternative in Jayden Brailey ($5,000).
Dylan Napa ($5,500) is a very reliable option who easily justifies his mid-range price. You know what you’re getting with Napa and he’ll allow you to spend big on other players. I’m also going to choose Matt Prior (5,900) for similar reasons; grabbing Napa and Prior will allow me to afford both Paul Gallen ($9,500) and Andrew Fifita ($8,600). This should be a very strong pack for this contest.
I’m going to make a tactical choice hear and run with the cheapest half on offer. I don’t want to spend too much on halves and backs so Chad Townsend ($4,600) will be my pick.
I’m simply going to run with the cheapest starters available. I spent big on my forwards and hooker so I don’t have much to play with here. Gerard Beale ($5,100) and Sosaia Feki ($6,000) may not score well but I can’t see any outside backs producing a big output in the match. I’ll run with Mitchell Aubusson ($6,300) as my final choice because at least he’ll produce some decent base stats.
