It’s the final regular season Super Saturday of the year, it all get started 3pm AEST as the Roosters take on the Titans, followed by the Sea Eagles vs Panthers and then to cap it off, rivalry at it’s best as Minor Premier Melbourne Storm go into battle vs the Canberra Raiders. Here are my NRL fantasy tips!
Roosters V Titans
The Titans have a number of key players out and won’t put up much of a fight. I’m predicting the Roosters to put at least 30 points on the boys from the Gold Coast.
Pat Politoni ($3,700) may be extremely cheap but it wouldn’t surprise me if he produces a single digit score in this match. Jake Friend ($7,700) will be my hooker for this game.
Max King ($4,800) is still available for a cheap price and is consistently producing respectable stats. He’ll be my first picked forward. Agnatius Paasi ($5,000) and Morgan Boyle ($5,200) are also very cheap and I can see these two picking up the slack with other players missing. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves ($7,600) will be my final choice. He’s producing the best form average of all the forwards available and I’ll need a heavy hitter to keep those points ticking over throughout the match.
Mitchell Pearce ($8,200) could potentially produce one of his biggest performances of the season. I’m going to spend big and take the risk on his services.
All aboard the Roosters’ outside backs! Michael Gordon ($6,800) is simply a must in my eyes. He’ll benefit from having the goal kicking duties and we’d have to assume he’ll be adding some attacking stats to his output. Blake Ferguson ($6,900) and Ryan Matterson ($6,800) will be my final picks. Latrell Mitchell (8,500) is also a great option but the mid-rangers will be capable of scoring just as well.
Sea Eagles V Panthers
This is a crucial match for both teams and it’s hard to predict how it’ll pan out. Neither team has shown strong defensive signs so I’m assuming there’ll be plenty of points being scored.
Api Koroisau ($8,100) has been impressive in recent weeks but I think Peter Wallace ($5,900) will provide the better value. He’ll be my hooker for this match.
James Fisher-Harris ($3,900) is a low-risk choice and will allow me to get some appealing candidates in other positions. James Tamou ($7,300) and Curtis Sironen ($6,900) have impressed me lately. Their base output has been impressive and they’ve well and truly justified their prices. I don’t think Jake Trbojevic ($9,400) will score his average on the weekend; I’m going to pass on his services and instead run with Frank Winterstein ($5,300). He’s a great option if you’re looking to control your spending.
The half position is where I’m going to take a hit. Blake Green ($3,800) is cheap as chips but hasn’t got the potential to be a complete failure.
Dean Whare ($3,800) has returned from injury and has been named at fullback. He should well and trulyjustify his incredibly cheap price. Tyrone Peachey ($6,400) has been showing base involvement and I think he’s a good buy at his price. I’m going to avoid Dylan Walker ($6,700) as he was a little shaky last week carrying an injury. Akuila Uate ($6,700) is also a good buy at his price. He’s shown some improvement in recent weeks and is capable of scoring well this weekend.
Storm V Raiders
The Storm have been unstoppable and it’s hard to see the Raiders putting up a fight here. I’m predicting a convincing win by the boys from Melbourne.
Selecting Cameron Smith ($10,400) as your hooker this week could prove to be disastrous. He could have an early shower if the Storm have wrapped the game up early. I’ll be selecting Josh Hodgson ($7,700) as my hooker.
There are plenty of attractive mid-rangers available for our forwards. Sia Soliola ($6,400) and Junior Paulo ($6,800) are always consistent and they’ve maintained a reasonable price throughout the season. You know what you’re getting when you bring these guys into your side. I’m going to take a punt on Tohu Harris ($6,900) due to his attacking potential. He’s returned from injury and looked very good in last week’s match. My final choice will be Shannon Boyd ($5,000). He’s a low-risk option that’ll allow me to control my spending.
Cooper Cronk ($6,700) produced great value last week and I think he’ll do the same against the Raiders. Cameron Munster ($9,900) should also score well but I prefer to eliminate the risk of an expensive half.
Will Chambers ($7,900) hasn’t been scoring as well as Suliasi Vunivalu ($8,500) or Josh Addo-Carr ($8,000), but he doesn’t rely on attacking stats and comes with a slightly cheaper price tag. Curtis Scott ($6,400) is the cheaper of the Storm outside backs and doesn’t need to do much to prove his worth. The money saved in the forwards will allow me to bring Billy Slater ($9,500) into my side as my final outside back. I think he’ll produce a massive score and he’ll be key to securing a Moneyball victory this week.
