The second of the Big Bash semi-finals, this match looks like it could go down to the wire. These teams finished 2nd and 3rd respectively with only 1 win separating them on the ladder. Adelaide got the win the last time these teams played thanks to a huge innings by Colin Ingram which rescued the Strikers. If the Renegades batting lineup can perform a little better than last time, I think we will have a tight contest on our hands.

Colin Ingram – $6,200

Known as ‘The Bulldozer’, Ingram can pick off bowlers to any part of the field. The last time he played the Renegades he scored 68 off 36 and absolutely destroyed them. With Adelaide missing key batsmen Travis Head and Keeper Alex Carey, it will be up to Ingram to do a lot of the damage.

Marcus Harris – $4,100

For me, you need to have one opening batsmen in your lineup and Harris looks like the play. Has been building form in his last two matches with scores of 41 and 33 fantasy points respectively. With Aaron Finch out, Harris will need to shoulder a lot more of the load and I think will thrive with the added pressure.

Ben Laughlin – $7,800

In a super strong Adelaide bowling lineup this guy is the unsung hero. He doesn’t get all the accolades of some of his teammates but he does all the little things right. With Stanlake out it will be up to Laughlin to step up as a leader of the attack. Has taken 15 wickets this year at a great economy while bowling extremely well the last time these teams met.

Rashid Khan – $8,700

Arguably the best bowler in this year’s tournament, Khan has had opponents in a spin from the first ball he bowled. Averaging 33.3 fantasy points he is one of points leaders on Moneyball and is worth the high price tag. Expect him to show up on the big stage and look to bowl his team to victory.

All Rounder

Kieron Pollard – $5,100

Tough call here but i think Pollard is ready to make a big impact for the season. Up against his old team in a semi-final, it is set up for the big man from the West Indies to put on a show. We all know his ability and power with the bat but I think his bowling at the death is very underrated. At a budget price he has plenty of upside.

Wicket Keeper

Tim Ludeman – $4,000

One of the easier choices for your lineup, I think Ludeman will have it over his opposing number. Strikers are without star keeper Carey and instead have young Harry Nielsen on debut. While Ludeman has been struggling for form I believe the big stage will bring out the best in him.
