Cameron Payne $4,600
Cameron Payne is filling the starting point guard role with Kriss Dunn and Zach Lavine out. He played 32 minutes in the last game and scored 27.4 fantasy points. In today’s game he also has a decent matchup against the Knicks, so hopefully, he can continue to take advantage of this opportunity to prove himself.
Eric Bledsoe $8,100
Point Guard is a tough spot to pick ‘em today, so I’m resorting to a time honoured fantasy trick. Eric Bledsoe has been in pretty good form of late, with back-to-back 40 point games, and he has the best matchup of the point guard selection today against the Cavs. The best player against the worst fantasy team feels like good fantasy security on a day when no one else jumps out.
Nick Young $5,200
I recommended Nick Young last time and he hasn’t disappointed. In his three games as a starter, he’s averaging 25.6 in 36 minutes. With injuries to Durant, Curry and Thompson, someone has to get shots up, and that guy has been Nick Young. Shooters shoot.
D’Angelo Russell $7,100
D’Angelo Russell is coming off a nice 4 game stretch, averaging 34.7 fantasy points. Russell has made the slide to SG in the Brooklyn Nets starting lineup, and shooting guard is a great way to describe how he’s playing. Russell has jacked 17 or more shots in 3 of his last 4 games, and has had a usage of 30% or greater in those three games as well. Russell is using possessions, which always bodes well when assessing fantasy potential.
Denzel Valentine $5,500
Denzel Valentine is coming off the game of his life with a 34-6-6 performance, but the question is, just how big of an aberration was it? Valentine will get the start again today, so is a similar performance repeatable? Probably not. But with all the injuries in Chicago, he’s going to have plenty of opportunities to amass a strong fantasy score.
Bam Adebayo $4,100
I seem to be writing this name a lot lately, but Miami’s Bam Adebayo is becoming a very nice fantasy play. His consistency is keeping his price at a manageable level, but he’s still exceeded more than 5 times value three games in a row. Over that stretch, he’s averaged 25.2 fantasy points and played 28 minutes per game. The way that this is trending, Bam is a must play at the moment.
Julius Randle $7,600
It’s so good to see Randle living up to his potential. I’ve been a massive fan ever since he was drafted and never understood why he was so maligned in Los Angeles. However, of late they have been giving Randle the burn he deserves and he’s been seeing minutes in the late 30’s over his last few games! Those minutes have also corresponded with big fantasy scores. Against a smaller framed front line in Indiana today, I expect another strong return from Randle. After all it is a contract year, and most fans will know what that means.
Joel Embiid $10,800
Joel Embiid and dropped 50 or more in his last 3 games, and it’s not shocking he’s played 30+ minutes in all of those games. He’s also had a usage of 30 or more in last 8 games, with a couple of games in the 40’s. You just can’t bet against an Embiid that’s using that many possessions.
