Round 2 kicks off with an expected nail-biter when the Cronulla Sharks take on the St George Illawarra Dragons. Both these teams are coming off a fairly good performance but I think the Dragons can take the two points in this match. NRL DFS Tips:
Cameron McInnes ($7,800) and Jayden Brailey ($5,200) are the two starters this week but they both produced an average output last weekend. James Segeyaro ($5,200) is also an option but he’s currently named on the bench. I’ll be running with Brailey, simply because I’m planning on spending big in other positions.
There aren’t any forwards available for under $5,000 so keep that in mind when choosing your players in other positions. Jack DeBelin ($9,500) scored well last week but keep in mind he managed to cross the line. Paul Gallen ($10,400) doesn’t seem to be worth his price tag but he was moved to the bench before his match last weekend. I like the look of Andrew Fifita ($8,800), especially with his current price tag and impressive performance last weekend. Jayson Bukuya ($5,200) and Matt Prior ($6,300) should be considered your safety options this week. They come at reasonable prices and are currently named as starting props. Paul Vaughan ($9,000) will round out my forwards this week. His output was respectable last week and he’ll keep the points ticking over in my team.
The Dragons’ new halves pairing in Ben Hunt ($8,500) and Gareth Widdop ($8,600) were very impressive last weekend and have could very well justify their expensive price tags against the Sharks. I wasn’t sold on Matt Moylan ($7,800) and I think he should be ignored for now. Chad Towsend ($4,900) is the cheapest half of all the starting candidates and he’ll be my choice for this week’s match. He has the goal kicking duties and produced a good output last weekend.
Selecting my outside backs was a very simple process. I usually look at the fullbacks first and I immediately ruled out Valentine Holmes ($7,000) after his poor performance last week. On the other hand, Matthew Dufty ($6,500) produced a solid score and will be my first selected. Euan Aitken ($7,000) is always a reliable choice as he’s one of few outside backs that produce a respectable base output, while Josh Dugan ($7,300) was the only player in the Sharks’ back line that looked hungry for involvement.
