Can you believe that week 3 of the AFL is already here?! GWS look the team to beat early doors but who would’ve thought that Gold Coast, Port Adelaide and Hawthorn would round out our top 4 after two rounds? This season has already thrown up some surprises and looks to be building as one of the closest races for the premiership that we have seen. We are kicking off round 3 with $10,000 up for grabs in our Carlton vs Collingwood Friday night blockbuster. These two sides are without a win yet and you can bet they will come out firing to avoid going 0-3 to start the season.

Darcy Moore ($5,900)

The forward position is probably the toughest to pick for this match. I would be looking at cheaper options to save yourself some salary space for bigger players in your midfield and defence. Moore seems like a good play at this price and is always a consistent performer.

Charlie Curnow ($6,500)

Has been in pretty good touch to start the season having kicked 7 goals in the first 2 games. Looks like the form forward in this match and after having kicked 5 against Richmond, he could grab another bag here against a weaker defence in the Pies.

Patrick Cripps ($9,300)

Cripps has started this season living up to some of the potential which many have seen in him. 130 fantasy points in round one and 95 in round two holds him in good stead for another big performance this week. It will be up to Cripps to get his midfield firing after a less than impressive team performance last week.

Marc Murphy ($10,000)

After having a reasonably quiet game against the Tigers in round one, Murphy showed his class in round two. He was one of the few who scored 100+ fantasy points last week for the Blues and I’m hoping he will lead from the front again. Always gets plenty of touches on the ball and should rack up the possessions.

Kade Simpson ($9,300)

Simpson has been one of the Blues best to start the year putting up some big numbers in the opening rounds. Look for him to get plenty of touches coming out of the back line and hit targets with his laser-like kicking. His price hasn’t really changed so looks a good play to make some value.

Jeremy Howe ($8,200)

Coming off a really solid, all round performance against GWS, Howe will want to keep the momentum rolling in what was an impressive hit-out against the giants. He had 27 touches to go with a few tackles and this match-up looks easier for him this week.

Brodie Grundy ($9,600)

What a performance last week from this guy. He was easily one of the Pies best with 45 hit-outs and 127 fantasy points. He easily out-performed his opposite number in Rory Lobb last week and I think he can carry that momentum into this match.
