How good is mid-week footy?! With the annual ANZAC Day clash on Wednesday, the Tigers and the Dees face off in a Tuesday night blockbuster. Richmond sit 3rd and look to be hitting their straps as we approach round 5 while a youthful Melbourne side will want to get their season back on track. Follow along on Moneyball again as we offer up another HUGE $10,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool.
Jacob Townsend ($5,600)
A risky selection which might come back to bite but I feel like Townsend is going to kick a bag of goals here. At only $5,600 he only needs to kick a few to hit value for your team. In a match where midfielders and defenders are a premium price, a cheaper forward pick looks like a good play.
Jesse Hogan ($7,500)
When your top forward in the match is only $7,500 I think you need to pick him. If Demons are any chance of upsetting the Tigers, Hogan will need to have a big impact. Has put up some good numbers so far this season and looks like a solid play.
Dustin Martin ($10,000)
“3 votes, D Martin”. We got use to hearing that a whole lot last season and I predict we will hear it a few more times after his most recent outings. Hanging up front last week he kicked 6 goals to go with 17 touches along with a 5 goal, 25 disposal match in round 2. If Dusty gets in that sort of mood again he will be unstoppable.
Trent Cotchin ($8,600)
If there is ever a player you would want to have in your team rather than to play against, I reckon this guy would be near the top of that list. He is one of the hardest working, physical players going around and is usually sticking his head where most people wouldn’t put their feet. Anzac Day Eve, packed MCG – ‘Cotch’ will have a huge game. Best On Ground is my prediction.
Bernie Vince ($6,800)
Speaking of courageous players, Vince is as hard and tough as they come. He is coming into this after a reasonably quiet match last week but I doubt he will let that happen again. He could be tagged by Martin throughout the game so will need to be instrumental to give the Dees a chance.
Max Gawn ($8,700)
I am predicting Gawn to play a big role in this match. His hit-outs will need to be spot on and give Melbourne the ascendancy coming out of contests. He has been one of the top performing Ruckmen this year scoring 110+ fantasy points in three of the first four rounds.
