What a match we have to kick off round 7 as the Cats host the Giants in a Friday night blockbuster. Geelong are coming off a disappointing loss to the Swans while GWS continue their good form sitting inside the top 4. Both teams will be looking assert their dominance early with genuine superstars scattered throughout each side. Once again, Moneyball has you covered with a HUGE $10,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool Contest.
Matt de Boer ($6,200)
de Boer is coming off a best on ground performance last week and has been a top performer for the Giants all year. He had a career-high 34 possessions last round to go with a goal. At this price he still looks like great value!
Tom Hawkins ($6,800)
The big unit up front finally found some form last week kicking 2 goals to go with plenty of touches. He racked up 101 fantasy points and will look to keep that form rolling into this week.
Tim Taranto ($7,100)
This guy has been in really good touch for the Giants this year. Has had 3 scores of 100+ fantasy points and has been flying under the radar all year. Acquires stats in almost every category most weeks and is a genuine all round midfielder. Among a lot of big-name players in this match I am happy to take on Taranto at his smaller price.
Stephen Coniglio ($9,700)
How can you ignore a guy who has scored 100+ fantasy points in EVERY match this season? Coniglio is in career-best form putting together all-round performances week after week. Has been getting plenty of touches to go with some handy goals.
Heath Shaw ($7,800)
Shaw looks like the obvious pick in a match where there isn’t a whole lot of depth throughout the defensive lines. He has been putting up consistent numbers all season and will need to be at his best to keep Geelong’s ‘Big 3’ under wraps.
Jed Bews ($5,200)
This is a pick based on price. Bews looks like one of the better value plays in a match where you will want to spend up big throughout your midfield and upfront. He has plenty of upside and is averaging 53 fantasy points per game. If he can produce similar output to that we will take it.
Zac Smith ($8,000)
With GWS not fielding a specific ruckman this seems like the obvious choice. Smith will rack up plenty of hit-outs and will guarantee a pretty good output this week.
