We’re lucky enough to kick off the footy weekend with a huge clash between two of the competition’s biggest modern-day rivals. The last three matches between these sides has been decided by 6 points or less with the Hawks coming out on top every time. Hawthorn and Sydney will do battle yet again in front of a packed MCG crowd come Friday night and once again, Moneyball has you covered with another $10,000 Guaranteed Prize.

Forwards

Jarryd Roughead ($6,800)

Hawthorn lead the competition in efficiency in front of goal and this guy is a big reason for that. Has kicked 13 goals with a few matches of 3 or more. Had one of his best games of the season last time these teams played and looks like a solid pick.

Luke Breust ($7,500)

Breust has been one of Hawthorn’s best all season and sits 2nd on the leading goal kicker’s ladder at the moment with 20. Finds plenty of ball throughout the match and will more often than not give you a good all-round performance

Midfielders

Josh Kennedy ($8,500)

Kennedy sits 8th in the current AFL player rankings and for good reason. He is a genuine all-round midfielder who can win games for the Swans off the back of his own work. Coming into this match with two 100+ matches and will need to at his best for the Swans to take the 4 points.

Luke Parker ($8,500)

Parker started this season in red-hot form putting up some huge numbers. The Swans have struggled in recent weeks and it’s no coincidence that Parker has been as well. I am backing him to find that early season form again this week and lift against rivals, the Hawks.

Defenders

James Sicily ($7,200)

Sicily was just about best on ground last week against the Bombers and has generally performed well up against Sydney. Coming into this match in red-hot form and will get plenty of touches running off the back-line.

Jarrad McVeigh ($7,000)

Has been Mr Consistent this year averaging around 85 fantasy points per match and has been solid in the Swans keeping their opponents to minimal scoring. I think he will have a big role to play in this match which tends to be a low scoring affair.

Ruckman

Ben McEvoy ($7,600)

Big boy McEvoy has been one of the top performing rucks this season. He ranks inside the top 20 AFL player rankings. I am hoping his experience over his opposite number will lead to a strong output this week.
