The first game of round ten has the West Tigers at home to the North Queensland Cowboys. The Tigers boast the best defensive record in the NRL and should come away with the two points.

Elijah Taylor ($6,400) and Jake Granville ($5,900) are the two starting hookers in this match. Taylor usually produces the superior base output and won’t rely on an attacking stat to prove his value. I’ll be running with ET this week.

Russell Packer ($5,700) has returned from injury and has been named in his usual position at prop. He’s been producing a great base output for someone with his price tag. Chris Lawrence ($5,400) has been named but will need to past a last minute fitness test. I’m willing to fork out the big bucks on Jason Taumalolo ($9,800). He’s been producing sensational numbers in recent weeks and should be considered as a safety pick. Matthew Eisenhuth ($7,200) has also been performing well while Scott Bolton ($6,100) seems to be the safest of the mid-range candidates.

All four of the starting halves come with an element of risk in this match. I’m going to run with Benji Marshall ($4,300) to eliminate the potential of a complete disaster.

Mahe Fonua ($5,000) is scoring well above his worth and will be my first choice for my outside backs. Ben Hampton ($5,900) has shown signs of improvement since being moved to the centres while Corey Thompson ($6,400) is another mid-ranger scoring above his worth. Esan Marsters ($7,700) could be worth the risk if you’re predicting the Tigers to score a handful of tries. He’s the Tigers’ goal kicker and usually gets involved in their attacking plays.
