The time for talk and mind games is over. We have arrived at game day with both teams looking to start a new chapter of dominance in the Origin arena. Year after year the hype around State Of Origin gets bigger and 2018 is no different. There are so many different sub-plots surrounding the main attraction – How will Queensland cope without JT, Smith and Cronk? How will 11 NSW debutantes handle the biggest stage? No one knows just yet but come 8pm Wednesday night we will be ready to find out.
To make the match even more juicy, Moneyball has offered up a massive $10,000 Guaranteed State Of Origin Contest. You can create your dream Origin line-up and follow the live leader board as you see yourself climb higher and higher into the cash $$
To get you on the right track, we have picked some of our best picks for this rugby league spectacle:
Damien Cook ($8,000)
Hard to go past Cook in this match. His opposite number McCullough plays a very different, more defensive style compared to Cook’s running game. Will cost you a little extra but can hopefully play to his best ability.
Josh McGuire ($6,700)
In a match lacking a lot of experience, especially in the forward packs, McGuire will play a huge part in this. He has been a quality performer for the maroons in the origin arena and will lead from the front and put up some huge minutes.
Tyson Frizell ($5,100)
This guy is seriously good value at this price. He is a proven performer at this level and similar to McGuire, will want to be leading his young forward pack around. Look out for his strong ball running down the edges of the NSW attack and can chime in with the odd try.
James Maloney ($7,500)
Sticking with experience again here. Maloney has been the form half of the competition this year and has been through Origin numerous times before. I’m hoping he can carry his club form into this origin series and having his halves partner in Cleary by his side will only help.
Latrell Mitchell ($6,600)
Very excited to see how this guy goes in the origin arena. He has torn defenders to shreds this year and deserves his call up to NSW. Brings the X factor that the blues have been missing the last couple of years and if any debutante is going to shine, I think it could be Latrell.
Valentine Holmes ($6,600)
Holmes has been a top performer in the representative arena for both Australia and Queensland. Scored a hat trick in his last origin game and will need to be at his brilliant best to give Queensland a chance tonight. If he gets in a try-scoring mood he could be the difference between winning and losing some $$
So now that you’ve done your research it’s time to enter Moneyball’s $10,000 State Of Origin Special! Kick off is 8PM AEST.
