We have two more games of rugby league to finish off the weekend and plenty of contest on Moneyball to get involved in. The tigers will be playing the Bulldogs at Campbelltown Stadium followed by the Rabbitohs playing the Titans. Targeting players versing the Bulldogs and the Titans has been a profitable strategy so far this year and I don’t see that changing today. I plan to enter a few teams and try and stack as many combinations of Tigers and Rabbitohs players as possible.
Damien Cook ($8,800) and Robbie Farah ($7,000) have been on fire over the first few rounds and are both exceptional options here. I expect Farah to be slightly higher owned due to the fact that he is a bit cheaper and has posted two monster scores so far this year. If you are looking for a contrarian option, Mitch Rein ($5,800) will likely start at hooker for the Titans given Peats was injured in training this week and is unfortunately set for a lengthy stint on the sideline. Rein is at a discount price and could produce a big score with increased minutes.
Jai Arrow ($7,700) post an impressive 61 fantasy points on a side that was well beaten by the Sharks. He is worth considering every time he is on a slate given he is able to score so well despite the outcome of the game. Sam Burgess ($8,400) and Cameron Murray ($7,500) have both cashed in on the Rabbitohs hot start to the year. They have both relied on attacking stats to put up large fantasy points but they could well continue to break the line and score tries against this Titans team who have leaked points so far this season. Ryan Matterson ($5,500), Alex Twal ($5,200) and Luke Garner ($4,200) are my favourite options from the Tigers vs Bulldogs game. The Bulldogs have conceded 76 points in the first two rounds f the season and have been a great team to target in fantasy contests.
Cody Walker ($8,100), Adam Reynolds ($6,600) and Luke Brooks ($6,500) are all excellent options. Reynolds is my preferred option given the fact that he also has goal kicking duties for the Rabbitohs. Last week he scored an impressive 10 fantasy points from goals alone. It is however, worth noting that Brooks will be versing a Bulldogs team that has conceded a try to a half in both of their games so far this season and Brooks’ running game could exploit their defence this week.
Esan Marsters ($7,900) will be the first back I pick on this slate, Marsters’ ability to offload and create opportunities on the edge mean he could be in for a monster score against this Bulldogs defence that has struggled to click so far this year. Braidon Burns ($4,500) has had great start to the season and it should come as no surprise that he is one of the outside backs I want to identify as a solid option. The fact that he is only $4,500 is even more reason to roster him this week. If you are looking for an option in the backs from one of the underdog teams, Brenko Lee ($7,600) is my favourite option. Lee managed to score 36.5 fantasy points last week despite the Titans being well beaten and despite the Rabbitohs having a great start to the season, they have still conceded three tries in each of their games so far this season.
