Don’t worry footy fans, the wait is finally over! The 2019 NRL season is finally hear and aren’t we relieved about it… Talk about an interesting off-season hey?
Luckily, we’re here to focus on the on-field action in what looks to be an unpredictable and exciting season ahead of us!
Can the Roosters go back-to-back? How badly will the Storm miss Billy Slater? Can the Eels prove doubters wrong? There are so many story lines to play out this year and quite frankly, we can’t wait.
In more urgent matters however, we’ve got a cracking match to kick off the season. The Storm host the Broncos with both teams out to prove they are contenders this year.
The Broncos of course have parted ways with Wayne Bennett with Anthony Seibold now at the helm in a ‘coach swap’ deal with the Rabbitohs.
The Storm play their first match of the Slater-less era and will need their young brigade to stand-up and prove they belong in the league.
Tevita Pangai Junior ($7,000)
The Broncos have arguably one of the most exciting, young forward packs in the game. This guy is a major reason why. His impact off the bench will be enormous and is an absolute metre-eater. I think Pangai Junior will be one of the top forwards this season!
Ken Bromwich ($4,900)
I’m simply putting Bromwich in my line-up for the fact he is starting and is at a cheap price. He has plenty of upside and presents as a great value play tonight.
Cameron Smith ($7,400)
Hard to not put Smith in your line-up tonight. He’s one of the greatest to ever play the game and is just an all-round workhorse. Had another outstanding season last year and will look to lead the Storm to another finals charge.
Anthony Milford ($6,900)
Milford has had an up-and-down start to his career in Brisbane. We all know the unbelievable talent he possesses but it has been a lack of consistency which has let him down in the last couple of years. Some would say it is make or break for the Broncos half this season and I’m tipping him to step up to the plate, starting with a match-winning performance tonight!
Jahrome Hughes ($5,500)
Hughes gets his chance replacing Scott Drinkwater who looked set to take Slater’s fullback spot until injury ruled him out. We’ve seen glimpses of what the speedster can do in his brief NRL career. At this price he looks like a solid cheapie to run with tonight.
Jamayne Isaako ($6,800)
Was rookie of the year last season after racking up an enormous number of points through tries and his precision goal-kicking. He just knows how to find the line and will get you plenty of extra points with his laser-like boot.
