Manly forward Addin Fonua-Blake quickly became public enemy no 1 in Newcastle last night.
After running over the top of David Klemmer to score, the young forward gave a sarcastic wave to the Newcastle big man. He then followed this up with a sickening high-shot on Mitchell Pearce.
Pearce was left dazed and had to be helped off the field for a HIA. Fonua-Blake was sent to the bin and the Newcastle crowd clearly let him know how they felt.
The Manly prop let his emotions get the best of him as he was seen flipping off the fans in the crowd.
Speaking after the game Fonua-Blake addressed the drama.
“They were giving it to me first so I had to give it back to them”.
Post-game, Fox League analyst and ex-player Michael Ennis condemned Fonua-Blake ‘s actions.
“It was unnecessary, he brought all his good work undone carrying on like a goose”
Corey Parker added to the comments saying the behavior was “sour”.
Aside from the drama, the promising young-gun was one of the best on the field, as Manly trumped the Knights 26-18.
