The rep round is now over and the NRL returns with the Tigers facing South Sydney. South Sydney have named their origin players to back up from Sunday’s game meaning there are a lot of high priced players on this slate with very few cheapies. Fitting in all the players you like will be tough today.
Damien Cook ($11,800) looks set to play the full game tonight as Souths have not named a utility on the bench. The fact that he plays 80 minutes makes him my favourite option at hooker today however the price is extremely high for a player coming off a short turn around. Jacob Liddle ($3,800) is in play tonight given the fact he is so cheap and there is not a great deal of value elsewhere.
Although Cam Murray ($9,500) played origin, he should be relatively fresh given he didn’t play as many minutes as he usually does in club land. The last time Murray faced the Tigers he scored 2 tries and made over 40 tackles. Ryan Matterson ($8,700) has scored over 40 points in his last 2 performances and has just spent the week in camp with the Blues. I expect Matterson to get through a lot of work in defence tonight as well as rack up some attacking stats. Liam Knight ($6,400) has been exceptional for the Rabbitohs this year. His impressive form has seen him earn a spot in the starting 13 and since he has been elevated to the starting side, his fantasy scores have improved again. Knight has averaged 36.7 fantasy points in his last 3 outings.
Cody Walker seems to expensive for my liking tonight. Although walker is capable of posting incredibly high scores, he is very much a confidence player and his recent form doesn’t suggest he will reach value tonight. Adam Reynolds ($6,900) returns from injury tonight and is great value at this price. If Reynolds can hit the ground running, he will be in the race for a place in the Blues halves in game 3. If you are building a team around the game script of the Tigers winning, both of their halves are in play. Marshall is a cheap option while I expect brooks to be under owned tonight as I anticipate most people spending up in the halves will opt to go with Cody Walker.
Braidon Burns ($4,700) makes his return from injury tonight. Burns started the year with 2 strong performances before being injured in round 3. Burns under priced due to the limited number of games he has played this year. Dane Gagai ($6,400) and James Roberts ($6,700) combined well in their first game playing on the same edge. Roberts set Gagai up for a try and was dangerous all game. They have, once again, been named to on the same edge of the field and are worthwhile stacking tonight.
