With spots really starting to heat up as the race  for the end of the season is upon us.  Even the teams who are out of finals contention are proving to be difficult opponents for those looking to sneak up the ladder.  Their will certainly be no shortage of action through the day, so time to relish the footy spectacles before you while we still can for 2017. AFL fantasy tips:


Tom Bellchambers $6,800

Battle of the big men today.  Bellchambers is one of the ruckman short priced at $6,800 with a 86.7Fp form average currently.  Averaging 11 disposals, 30.7 hitouts and 8 goals.  Against the Bulldogs ruckman he should be able to work his way into the game nicely and stamp his seniority on the contest.   If he can push forward and add to his 2017 goal tally then he will be in prime position for another solid score in the ruck.


Josh J. Kennedy $7,400

Since returning from injury, Kennedy has set thrown himself back into the race for the Coleman medal.  He has slotted 9 goals in the last two weeks and will be looking to stamp his authority against the young Brisbane back line.  In 2017 Kennedy has averaged 11.9 disposals and 6.4 marks with a total of 43 goals to his name going into round 19.  Certain lock at this price.

Toby McLean $8,100

Young Bulldog forward McLean has been working hard for his side in recent weeks.  With the Dogs to do battle with the Bombers, both fighting for a spot in the top 8.  He has been averaging 21.7 disposals, 4.9 tackles and 3.1 marks for 2017.  With an expected fast paced game it will be important for the likes of McLean to find the footy early.


Alex Witherden $5,700

A shining light for the Brisbane Lions season has been their youth in the 2017 season.  From his first 5 career games Witherden has averaged 24 disposals, 5.8 marks and 2.2 tackles.  He has looked right at home with senior football and will be looking to build towards the end of the season.  The Eagles haven’t been great with their pressure acts in recent weeks and leaves opportunities for the likes of Alex to find the footy at will.

Elliot Yeo $8,800

Playing against his old side is Elliot Yeo as they look to face the Lions at Domain Stadium today.  With the midfielders of the Eagles starting to move on, it’s up to the likes of Yeo to step up into their shoes and spread the load.  Averaging in 2017, 24 disposals, 7.4 marks and 3.8 tackles respectably for his side.  Fully expecting some rain to hit this game, all the more reason for tackle numbers to rise and plenty of kicks for territory.

Matt Crouch $9,500

With his brother Brad Crouch ruled out this week against the Pies, fully expect Matt Crouch to look to lift.  already averaging 31.9 disposals, 3.1 marks and 4.1 tackles per game he is a professional in and under midfielder.  Teams look at tagging or negating Sloane also, resulting in more midfield load on the shoulders on Crouch to perform for his side.  Expecting him to dominate through the midfield.


Shannon Hurn $6,700

The Eagles captain has gone out to prove a point for his side in recent weeks.  At home against the Brisbane Lions look for Hurn to get on his bike and run the ball out of defence at will.  Averaging 19.9 disposals and 6.3 marks highlights the game style the veteran defender likes to earn his points from.  Expecting a captains performance from the Eagle, leading his team through to a lifting win.

Brodie Smith $7,100

Bounding defender Brodie Smith could be an interesting option for today with an enticing contest against the Pies.  Averaging 20.9 disposals, 4.4 marks and has slotted 7 goals throughout the 2017 season.  The last five weeks have seen Smith utilizing his kicking to the best of his ability, with his tackle numbers rising also.  With a potential negating role going to Laird, it  could be an interesting scoring opportunity for Smith.
