AFL Grand Final for 2017 is finally upon us. Even the neutral fans would be starting to get excited about the contest we are ready to witness. Both teams are deserving of taking part in the final dance this season and won’t disappoint. It’s the time of year that all footy fans have been waiting for and it may even be the final time we see the opening bounce trade place. Only one team walks away a champion. Game On. AFL fantasy tips:
Toby Nankervis $8,200
Coming across to Richmond seems to have been a great decision by the big ruckman considering where he has ended up. The starting ruckman for the Tigers and now playing in the AFL Grand Final in his first season with them. He averaged 14.7 disposals, 4.1 tackles and 24.6 hit outs this season and has given the Tigers some quality service. If he can negate the Crows ruckman Jacobs, it will go a long way to a massive win.
Tom T. Lynch $8,400
He may be the highest priced forward in the game but he is well worth the risk. His aerobic capacity has proven to be an influential advantage when it comes to finding the football. He managed 20.7 disposals, 7.2 marks and 31 goals this year with an average of 92.2Fp. If you can squeeze him under the salary cap, then think of the defensive players having to monitor the likes of Tex, Jenkins and Betts across a potent forward line.
Riley Knight $6,300
One of the cheaper options amongst the forward group. Knight has proven himself in 2017 and could be a smokey chance to fly under the radar on the big stage. Averaging 15 disposals, 3.9 marks and 4.1 tackles per game, with plenty of potential. Without the additional attention from the Tigers players, Knight should be able to find his own football and hopefully generate some scoreboard pressure.
Brad Crouch $10,000
Time after time we have watched the dominant display the Crouch brothers can produce. Now they are pairing up to take on the biggest dance of all. Brad managed to average 28 disposals and 6.9 marks throughout the season, which he will need to dig deep to produce in the grand final. The hard-nosed midfielder will be first to the contest but it’s what he does with the footy that will shoot his scoring skywards.
Trent Cotchin $8,300
Captain of the Tigers escaped suspension this week and Richmond would be grateful to the MRP. Cotchin will want to lead from the front right from the first bounce on the MCG. Averaging 23.7 disposals, 3.4 marks, 5.6 tackles and managed 17 goals this season. Richmond need their captain to perform if they are to have any hope of taking away the premiership.
Matt Crouch $10,500
The most expensive player in the grand final for 2017 is Matt Crouch and for good reason. He has had a quality season and doesn’t look likely to be slowing down anytime soon. Averaging a massive 32.8 disposals, 3 marks and 4.8 tackles this season, he knows how to find the ball and plenty of it. Hard to work his way under the salary cap but if you manage to slot him in you know what kind of scoring to expect. Absolute gun of a player ready to take out the lot.
Rory Laird $8,900
A massive year out of defence for Rory Laird. He has been dynamic and with the absence of Brodie Smith he will need to continue to step up. Averaging 29.5 disposals, 5.6 marks and 2.3 tackles this season, he has been deadly by foot. Again a pricier option to choose but definitely worth taking the punt on Laird to perform. Their aren’t many players like him and he is ready to dominate.
Nick Vlastuin $6,900
Another performer at the lower end of the price scale is Nick Vlastuin. He has managed to work well off the defensive line with 15.5 disposals, 5.6 marks and 2.8 disposals with form of 82Fp. He is no guarantee to perform on the big stage but defensive options aren’t going to come easy in the grand final. When he is on he is on and can manage a solid score to drag himself over the line.
