Your team-building begins with a difficult decision: which of the seven $10k+ will you select today?
We’re here to help you get started.
Russell Westbrook ($12,000)
There’s a lot of star power ripe for the picking today, but Russell Westbrook is the first of my recommendations.
Westbrook’s returned to the fantasy form of old recently and has now managed upwards of 62 fantasy points in his last three games. He plays the Wizards again today, a team that he recently scored 62.2 fantasy points against.
It’s hard to go wrong with Westbrook.
Dejounte Murray ($5,800)
It’s a Dejounte Murray takeover.
The young Spurs guard has run away with the gig at San Antonio after some consistently excellent performances of late. He might not be the best of shooters, especially from deep, but he continues to rack up enough rebounds and assists to be a worthwhile selection for your team.
Lou Williams ($8,600)
Remember when Blake Griffin was inactive?
Well, it wasn’t that long ago, but Lou Williams was on fire. He now gets another opportunity to step up in a big way after Griffin has been traded to the Detroit Pistons.
The Clippers are still missing Rivers, Beverley, and Gallinari, so Williams will be expected to carry a heavy load today.
Bradley Beal ($8,100)
While Westbrook torched the Wizards, as mentioned earlier, Beal also did some damage in that game.
Beal racked up 41 actual points on the way to 66.9 fantasy points in 45 minutes. He’s getting more of the ball than previously in his career and has been tremendous with John Wall off the court.
DeMarre Carroll ($5,600)
Everyone else who is mentioned here can be quite exciting to write about for a number of different circumstances.
DeMarre Carroll, however, is about as basic as it gets. There’s nothing wrong with that, though, because you know exactly what you are getting from the Nets forward every time he steps on the court.
Carroll makes for a smart mid-range SF play today if you’re looking to save some cash.
Reggie Bullock ($3,500)
Speaking of saving cash, Reggie Bullock makes for an interesting play at minimum price today.
Bullock has seen 30 minutes of court time in ecah of his last two games and has scored very well to go with it. With fantasy performances of 30.2 and 29.0 (before the Griffin trade), Bullock deserves consideration as a low-priced punt in today’s slate.
Zach Randolph ($5,100)
It wasn’t that long ago when Zach Randolph was seemingly disappearing from fantasy consideration.
But now, he has been scoring quite well with fantasy performances of 25.5 and 32.4 in his last two games. Randolph makes for a great play today as a mid-range PF if you are looking to save some cash and get in the likes of Westbrook (or Harden).
Anthony Tolliver ($3,500)
Anthony Tolliver went big in his last game and likely no one saw it coming.
He scored 31.1 fantasy points and now looks to maintain this output considering that Harris and Bradley have been traded away from the Pistons.
DeAndre Jordan ($8,000)
Maybe not the smartest of plays, but it’s worth a try here.
DeAndre Jordan is usually quite a good play with Blake Griffin out of the team. Now that he has been traded away, Jordan might just be a consistently excellent play at the center position. However, it remains to be seen how the rest of the changes will affect him.
