The trade deadline has passed and that means there will be plenty of excellent fantasy value over the next couple of weeks.
However, it all begins today with a series of ‘revenge games’ as many players look to face their old team for the first time.
Who will you pick in the $10,000 Saturday Swish on Moneyball today?
Ricky Rubio ($7,800)
Let’s gets started with Ricky Rubio.
Rubio has been in excellent form with five-straight games of 38 fantasy points or more lately. Adding to that, the Jazz guard has scored upward of 45 twice in that same span. He’s been rolling now and will experience a boost considering that Rodney Hood has been shipped out to the Cavaliers.
Jose Calderon ($3,500)
Believe it or not, the Cavaliers are much better when Jose Calderon is working from the point guard spot.
Maybe this is why they dumped Isaiah Thomas and Derrick Rose with no problems? Regardless, we’re going to see Calderon get plenty of court time today and he will make for an excellent play at just $3,500.
Jrue Holiday ($7,800)
Jrue Holiday returns to Philadelphia today to take on the 76ers team.
Holiday has been playing good enough basketball lately to warrant consideration even regardless of opposition. However, the matchup against the 76ers is a good one and Holiday has been playing better basketball with DeMarcus Cousins off the court.
J.J. Redick ($5,100)
J.J. Redick has return to his usual level of court time and saw 33 minutes in the game against the Wizards a few days back. He managed 26.2 fantasy points in that time and returned to form after two consecutive below-value outings.
LeBron James ($11,100)
This is where things get interesting.
Since the Cavaliers went out and changed the entire make-up of their team, it’s tough to tell who is going to produce big numbers going forward.
One thing is for sure, though, “The King” won’t slow down. In fact, he should do his best to lift his output and carry the team over the line today.
Jimmy Butler ($9,800)
Jimmy Butler is playing against the Chicago Bulls today and looks to keep his hot streak going.
He’s scored 54 fantasy points in each of his last two games, but you might not have known it because people were only talking about LeBron’s game-winner when the Cavaliers topped the Timberwolves.
Butler is out here, though, and he’s doing his thing. His scoring is up and his additional stats are always pumping.
Blake Griffin ($9,400)
Blake Griffin will face the Clippers for the first time today.
Seeing a trend here?
It’s hard to believe that Blake Griffin isn’t going to come out trying to absolutely torch the Clippers on all fronts today.
Tobias Harris ($6,800)
Tobias Harris will be on the other side of the court in that game as he faces the Pistons not long after they traded him.
He’s been scoring very well since his arrival a week ago and is making the most of a his 33+ minutes per game.
Nikola Jokic ($10,100)
Picking a center is difficult today.
You’ve got the high-end options such as Anthony Davis, but $12,100 just seems like so much to pay.
Jokic is still high-end, but presents a $2k saving from Davis. The Houston team are below average at defending the position and it looks like Jokic could use his red-hot form to dominate the game today.
