NBA $4,000 SATURDAY SPECIAL
NBA DFS always makes for a much more exciting day of basketball on the weekends. It’s nice to sit back, relax, watch a ton of basketball and root for your guys to go big in the Saturday Special. If you’re spending your Saturday like me and playing for a share of $4,000 in today’s tournament, then here are a few guys who I think you should target.
Point Guard
Fred VanVleet $5,900
Fred hasn’t missed a beat in his time off. Fred VanVleet has always been a must-play when Lowry is out and he’s given the keys to the offense. He has had 38.4 and 35 fantasy points in two games as a starter, making him a no-brainer today.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander $5,600
Shai has found some great form of late, averaging 35.8 fantasy points per game over his last three games. He’s playing big minutes and seeing the rewards on the box score. His all-around game with points, assists, steals and rebounds makes him a solid fantasy option with a very high floor.
Shooting Guard
D’Angelo Russell $8,900
How will the new and improved D’Angelo Russell fair against his old team? Russell will head back to Los Angeles to take on his old squad today on the back of a massive 73.8 fantasy point performance that captured the whole NBA fan base (seriously, if you haven’t seen it, give it a Youtube). Russell also had 45.3 the last time he faced off against the Lakers, so we know he doesn’t shy away from the moment. The fact it’s a great defensive matchup doesn’t hurt either.
Justin Holiday $4,000
Look, Justin Holiday is nothing special. In fact, he’s not even a good NBA player. But when a guy is this cheap and he’s starting and playing 35+ minutes he’s a strong fantasy option. He hasn’t provided any great amount of value of late, but he doesn’t break the bank.
Small Forward
Rudy Gay $6,300
Rudy Gay is quietly going to work off the bench in San Antonio. He’s had 38.1 and 30.7 in his last two fantasy games and he’s coming into another nice matchup against the Rockets. At the backup forward Gay will likely be going against guys like Gerald Green or Austin Rivers, so the likelihood of him getting and taking advantage of a mismatch is high. Hopefully, Gay can continue his run of form today and provide another nice return for fantasy players.
Power Forward
Paul Millsap $7,500
Paul Millsap is averaging 37.8 fantasy points over his last 5 games without falling below 30 once. Millsap has always been consistent, reliable, and today he has a great matchup against the Knicks. I think the safe money is on Millsap having another 30+ fantasy point performance today.
Bam Adebayo $6,700
Bam Adebayo is averaging 32.98 fantasy points over the last 4 games while playing about 30 minutes per contest. This is the type of consistent opportunity and output that Heat fans of long hoped for and expected. Bam is a great young player and with his minutes and opportunity remaining at a strong level, his fantasy scores will likewise be the same.
Centre
Nikola Vucevic $10,200
It almost feels like Nikola Vucevic’s salary is being kept down because of who he is and not how he is playing. Vucevic is averaging well over 40 points when you look back at the last 5, 10 or even 20 games. He’s been an absolute revelation for the Magic and is helping them produce some great basketball. While he’s at it, he’s also helping fantasy players collect some nice returns when they’re smart enough to play him.
