Origin 1 is all over and we are back to a full 8-game round. This Sunday, Brisbane host the Titans and Panther play the Roosters. There are plenty of origin players named to back up from Wednesday but it is important to check the final team lists to ensure all your players take the field.
Mitch Rein ($7,200) is my favourite option at dummy half today. Rein is guaranteed lots of game time today whereas most of the other options will not play a full game. Be sure to check the final teams as Peats has been named on an extended bench. Wayde Egan ($3,700) returns to the starting team this week. At this price, Egan may be a good value play however his is not guaranteed lots of game-time given Katoa is on the bench.
There are plenty of representative forwards named to back up today. If these rep payers do take the field, they are worth considering but it is worth noting that they may play reduced minutes due to the short turn around. Some other options in the forwards include;
James Fisher-Harris ($8,300) has been a standout for the Panthers this year. Last week JFH made an impressive 62 tackles.
Jarrod Wallace ($7,800) has improved significantly in recent weeks and given the fact that James is still out today and Arrow may play reduced minutes, Wallace could be in for a big game. Wallace has averaged 38.4 fantasy points in his last 3 games.
Frank Winterstein ($4,100) is the best of the cheap options in the forwards. Winterstein started against Manly last week and posted 26.4 fantasy points. A similar performance this week will be a handy return on his small salary.
Anthony Milford ($7,500) has been getting back into form over the last month. His only quiet game came against the Roosters. Today Milford gets a favourable matchup against the Titans who are struggling to contain teams in defence this year. Drew Hutchison ($3,500) is my favourite of the cheaper halves. Hutchison will be starting for the Roosters today and as a result, will have plenty of attacking weapons around him and will have plenty of opportunities to rack up attacking stats.
I expect James Tedesco ($11,800) to feature heavily in the Roosters attack this week. Latrell Mitchell is expected to miss the game ad Keary will be out due to concussion issues and therefore the Roosters will be relying on Tedesco to create attacking opportunities for them. Similarly, Joseph Manu ($6,100) will also be expected to be more involved in the Roosters attack. With Latrell missing from the left edge, the Roosters will likely shape to attack the right more than usual today. Brian To’o ($4,400) is yet to score a try in the NRL but has managed to score 27.2 and 30.8 fantasy points in the last 2 weeks. If To’o can maintain his current form he will be a great value play today.
