The final game of the round sees the Bulldogs face the Dragons. Both teams have been struggling for form this year and will both be keen to get back in the winners circle this round. I will be running through some of my favourite plays on Moneyball for this game. Note that it is particularly important to keep up to date with team news this week as there are plenty of Origin players who might be backing up for their clubs this week.
Cameron McInnes ($9,300) is worth the price tag today, he has managed to get more involved in offence in recent week and scored 2 tries in his last 3 games as a result. I expect McInnes to trouble the Bulldogs forwards in this game particularly given the fact that there have been som many changes to the Bulldogs pack in recent weeks.
Josh Jackson ($7,800) has been one of the Bulldogs more consistent forwards so far this year. I already mentioned that the Bulldogs have made plenty of changes to the their forward pack in recent weeks but Jackson’s minutes seem to be consistent for the time been. Luciano Leilua ($5,000) is currently named to start for the Dragons due to their Origin players being named on an extended bench. If Leilua does start, he is a lock at this price. Even if he does come off the bench he will likely play inflated minutes as the Origin players will be given slightly longer rests. Raymond Faitala-Mariner ($6,500) forced his way back into the Bulldogs starting side last week and although it wasn’t the best game that RFM has payed, he is capable of posting huge fantasy scores.
Corey Norman ($6,400) is my favourite option in the halves today. Hunt has been named on the bench given he is backing up from origin and therefore I expect Norman to steer the Dragons around the field this week. Norman also gets a favourable matchup against this struggling Bulldogs outfit.
I will be looking to stack Dragons backs on this slate. I expect the Dragons to win comfortably and as a result, there should be plenty of opportunities for Dragons players to rack up attacking stats. Zac Lomax ($4,700) has plenty of potential and could be in for a big game here. Lomax has scored 2 tries in his last 3 games and will be a big chance of crossing the line today. Matthew Dufty ($6,300) has struggled in recent weeks and was even dropped after a poor performance against the Knights. Dufty will be eager to have a big game today and gets the opportunity to face the team currently sitting at the bottom of the table. Euan Aitkin ($5,500) is another dragons player who has struggled with form this year. Aitkin has always been renowned as a centre who gets a lot of fantasy points through base stats. He hasn’t been at his best this year but was solid against the Sharks in his last game and will be eager to build on that performance.
