After suffering a hamstring injury in January, Harry Kane is looking to return for Tottenham when the Premier League resumes playing after the suspension. He underwent surgery and was set to return in the middle of April. Now that the Premier League is suspended, Kane was given more time to recover from the injury.

Kane has addressed his rehabilitation timeline. He said, ‘I’m good. From a rehab point of view and personal point of view, I’m doing really well. I’m at a good stage now and just working hard, doing a lot of recovery, a lot of rehab and just waiting to see what happens to the season’.

Before the injury, Kane was having a spectacular season for Tottenham. Even in his shortened season, he already scored 11 goals. Because of his consistently brilliant performances, he has garnered interest from many clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool. A transfer would be very surprising because Kane has been with Tottenham for most of his life.

Kane has been one of the most consistent players in England. He is a strong striker who is very smart with his movements. He has played for England even when he was a teenager. His longevity has been one of the biggest factors to his national team career. He also has the reputation of being a great leader. He manages to juggle both his individual responsibilities but he is also a great teammate.

Similar to many people, he has been coping with new circumstances around the world. He said, ‘I’m not too far away, I’d normally hope to be back with the team in two or three weeks’ time. I’m at a good stage, pretty much doing everything, now it’s about building up my fitness. So from my personal point of view, I’m in a good place. It’s such a strange situation, no-one has been in this situation before. Like anything, you have to take the positives out of it and do what you can. So far, me and the family are well, and I’ll continue to work hard, work in the gym, work from home and do what I can. We’ll just have to wait and see’.

Tottenham has struggled in Kane’s absence. Most of the scoring responsibilities fell to South Korean striker Son Heung-Min. Unfortunately for the Spurs, Son also sustained an injury. This took him out of the lineup and Tottenham’s striker deficiencies were amplified.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer believes that Kane might leave Tottenham if they do not win when he returns. Shearer said, ‘He’ll do another year, I think, and if nothing comes in terms of trophies, then he’ll be off. It’s going to be hard for him. He’s on 136 and there’s a lot of “ifs” being asked; if he stays fit or if he stays in the Premier League. It’s going to be tough, but it’s going to go one day’.
