The Premier League season had great performances all year. Let us focus on the offensive side of the ball with the best strikers of the year so far.
Jamie Vardy
Jamie Vardy has been downright amazing this season. He is leading the Premier League in scored goals with 19 goals on the season. He is one of the main reasons why Leicester City is third in the standings right now. They only placed ninth the previous season.
Vardy has been very consistent throughout the season and has been the main threat for Leicester on the offensive end. Vardy has been a constant presence in Leicester for the majority of the past decade. He has become the main man for the club and has done it beautifully. He has easily become Leicester’s top all-time scorer, 60 goals ahead of second placer Riyad Mahrez. He has played 202 games in the Premier League which is good for second all-time in Leicester’s history as a club in the Premier League.
There were many criticisms towards Vardy after Leicester won the Premier League back in 2017. Some pundits said that Vardy was a one-hit-wonder for Leicester and their win was a fluke. Vardy has responded to the criticism. He said, ‘Maybe some people thought I’d be a one-season wonder. Who knows? It doesn’t matter what you do, you’ll always have people who doubt you. But people can say what they want. I just concentrate on myself on the pitch’.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang
Aubameyang has been amazing for Arsenal this season. He has by far their leading scorer with 17 goals in the season. Aubameyang is also the captain of the Gunners which is very impressive to see that he is capable of being the leader and the main option on offence.
Because of his consistent brilliance for Arsenal, other clubs like Barcelona and Manchester United have shown interest in signing the Arsenal captain.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has praised his captain’s impressive abilities. Arteta said, ‘Before I took over I had my questions about him but he has shown his commitment. I wanted him to show if he wanted to do it and do it physically. I’m so happy with him. He is scoring important goals and as a captain, he is giving a great example to everyone else with the way he is working defensively’.
He might not stay with Arsenal for much longer, but he has blazed a trail for himself during his time with the Gunners.
Mohamed Salah
Liverpool has been the best club in the league this season. They have only lost one match in the Premier League. Their impressive record is mainly because of their amazing offensive firepower. This offence is led by the Egyptian superstar. Salah has scored 16 goals this season and has also dished out six assists to his teammates.
Salah’s season is impressive because Liverpool has a plethora of scoring threats like Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino. But Salah still manages to be in the top three goalscorers in the Premier League this season. This is a testament to how skilled Salah is and how good Liverpool truly is.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has praised Salah’s ability on the offensive end. Klopp said, ‘He is an outstanding striker, a world-class striker. It’s really nice, I’m really happy for him that he reached that mark and I think Sadio has the chance to do similar stuff. That would be really cool’.
The Premier League has an embarrassment of riches in the striking department. Apart from the three strikers detailed here, players like Mané, Sergio Agüero and Marcus Rashford are establishing their names as excellent strikers as well.
